I like to get out to flea markets and toy shows as you never know what you will turn up. Case in point the Beetle Bailey pictured above. I turn him up in a group of old figures. What makes this figure interesting is he is in steel blue not green. Until picking up this figure in steel blue, I had only seen the figures in green. He is not a reissue as he was in the same group I got the unknown Foreign Legion figure which we now believe to believe Lido I checked Kent Sprecher’s site and while Kent shows the complete set of character figures, he has no mention of them being in any other color than green. Another mystery to ponder
You are so lucky; I wish I could find what you got!!.That is a Very rare one!!. I do have the Marx and MPC collection; never see any on that color at all on eBay, hobby antique store, show or else!!!
About the LIDO copy FFL. I will like to add that it may be a post recast done by a company call (BASA) from PERU of which I do have some Arabs and FFL figures that I bought in 1997 trip plus some Knights copies of COFFALU Company. I will look for them and send pictures so we can compare. And is true what Paul said; KENT web site is a great source of very accurate information and pictures that every collector should see and also buy, he carry a lot of rare figures no longer on sale anywhere.
I can’t find my Lido mold catalog (made when they were going out of business in 1964). I am sure the FFL figure was in it. I am still looking, but my 3 year divorce from hell has scrambled some stuff
I know some of records of information is floating in different places.
MPC used metallic “steel blue” but I have never seen the Beetle Bailey figures in this color.

I talked to a collector on Sunday and he said a friend had a complete set in steel blue. It would be very interesting to see in what way they were sold
