As to what the other figure poses we will have to wait and see. I am sure this will be another hit with collectors.

New Russian Figures

January 2025 New Plastic Mortar

I am amazed at the vast amount of figures being put out in Russia. This is a set from the Hanomak Line of Stalin Mortar Set One.

Barricade

This one is from Legend and is called Barricade. I am overwhelmed by the detail that was put into this piece. I hate to hear the price.

Ambro Tiger Hunt

This set is from a new company in Russia called Amba. The title of the set is Siberian Tiger Hunt. The detail on the figures is top-notch. Not a subject I would promote.

January 2025 New Plastic Biplant pirates

Biplant has a set of nice pirates that are responsible price. please the showing of these figures is for informational purposes only. Your country may have restrictions on buying from Russia.

Health Update and Other Things

I had my second checkup and things are going along well. They removed all the staples. I still have pain with the penis and I am checked daily by a visiting nurse. Another problem I have is bed sores. This has been rough on me.

I have been able to get packages out with the help of Sherri. She also has gotten for me groceries. I have to thank Sparky for getting this great person. He ran out on me and with the help of friends got him back. One of my friends mentioned Sherri for dog walking who I hired. She first helped me with the dog walking and started to do other tasks. I have been able to help her in ways as well.

My next foreign trip will not be until June when I go to PW Show in the UK. I hope to be back shows in the States in March.

Indeed, prayers for your quick and complete healing, Stad.

Those are nice looking, well detailed figures from Russia, and from Conte.

I would like to have a set of the Biplant pirates. All I can do is look at the pictures… They look great.

Thanks Stad, for your continued great figure coverage as you recover. I’m glad you have Sherri to help you.

I help her in return as she deals with her male counterpart who has Parkinson’s diease.

          Thanks Erwin,

I found the pirates on ebay, and bought two sets.

Very nice figures with great details, and they look even better in person!

  2. Thanks for the review Stad. I wish you a speedy recovery!
As the creator of the AMBA Soldiers project, I want to say that I am glad to receive attention to my project and give a small comment. The first set is called “Meetings in the taiga”. This is not a tiger hunt, this is a meeting with him, which is what happens in our Far East all the time and without killing a tiger (tiger hunting has been prohibited for many years). The set is based on the expeditions of V. K. Arsenyev, I think many people may know about this Russian traveler and writer from Akiro Kurosawa’s film “Dersu Uzala”.The set includes Arsenyev himself and Dersu Uzala. There is also a Chinese seeker of the legendary root of the ginseng plant and 2 more Hunghusa bandits.

The set from AMBA Soldiers is called “Meetings in the taiga”. It is based on the expeditions of V. K. Arsenyev. You may know him from Akira Kurosawa’s film “Dersu Uzala”. There is no tiger hunting here. Here are those who could meet in the forests of Manchuria and the Far East at the beginning of the 20th century: the Russian military, the Chinese, and local small folk – Udegeyts, Golds. And of course, the tiger is the master of the forest and taiga.

  4. John Wallace says:

Many Thanks to Anton for his efforts with the AMBA figures: what an amazing subject! Well done.

  5. BRIAN says:

RE:AMBA Figures what is the first piece in top row(above the Tiger) supposed to be?

    • TD Barnecut says:

I looked at that item closely and decided it must be a backpack lying on a tree stump? Does it appear to have an arm coming out of it?
I like the Conte figures, great animation and sculpting on par with the plastic elastolin figures.

    • Anton Gorichenko says:

Thank you for your interest in my figures. Yes, that’s right. This is an old tree stump with a backpack on it. This is a part of a figure in a hat; it is attached to form one composition with him, but can also be used separately.

    • Anton Gorichenko says:

It’s hard to see in the photo, but there’s an ax tied to the backpack, it looks like it’s a hand, no, it’s the handle of an ax

  6. Joe Costa says:

I wish you a speedy recovery, Stad. I’m truly excited with Conte’s upcoming offerings with the Vikings set. They are indeed ubiquitous with being able to serve as Vikings and Barbarians from Roman era.

Russia never ceases to amaze me with the level of detail on their figures. Hopefully before too long things will improve on the world scene leading to proper business interactions between collectors and sellers.
