Toy Shows 2024 Germany and York PA Germany

Markus told me once again there were many good items on and under the tables.

The tables were loaded with Timpo ranging from individual figures to box sets.

The show had other figures from Matchbox, Britains Airfix, and Atlantic.

One of the highlights of the German Plastic Show is going through Peter Bergner’s figure boxes. The box upfront is with Manurba figures. The box on the right of it is Airfix Napoleonic figures.

More figures on Peter Bergner’s tables.

Various military vehicles for sale

Various box Timpo sets including Indian Village and several different train sets.

Collectors go through the various tables. Markus said they had dealers from France, Sweden, and Belgium besides the German contingent.

The show was quite busy with collectors finding many items for your collection.

York Toy Show 2024

The York Toy Show is my last major toy show of the year. The show has 900 tables and I have found some great items. I got up early and stopped at Around the Clock Diner in York before getting to the show. I got early rights and went in.
After saying hello to my friends Gerry and Chris I started my hunt. I noticed immediately that there was less plastic than in previous years. I had to switch looking for items that I classify as niches. An example of this is the Comic Book Romans. These were figures offered in the comic books. While disappointed when bought as a child, people now want them.

One item I found was a set of Cherilea Dan Dare figures. The seller was surprised that I knew who he was. Dan Dare was the English equivalent of Buck Rogers.

I did find some plastic like an Empire pioneer figure. Some other figures I found were a box of Marx 54mm Indians and MPC Russians. After walking around for several hours I headed home.
Being in the U.K. I used to be so jealous of you lucky Americans who could buy the comic book armies, the artwork they used was brilliant, it was years later that I realised the figures were not what you saw in the comics, now I find them really interesting, as you say would have been a major disappointment as a kid but interesting as an adult!!
What scale is the Empire pioneer? When I looked at it I thought it was from one of the Russian makers. Nice sculpting.

They were larger figures, I had them all back in the day, about five or six inches high. They went well with Marx’s Daniel Boone and Indian figures. I gave them all to my younger brothers when I went into the Army.
