Theo Barnecut sent me a message and pictures about his spike fence. These are great pieces to add to your Civil War display
Hi, just a note to let you know I now have the cheval de frise models available in a chocolate brown soft plastic, they are $2 each plus postage. Attached is a photo(s) you may post to your blog / website if you like. I’ve also included a picture of the source of the plastic – Rubbermaid cutlery trays which I have found at second-hand stores. These trays are no longer produced by Rubbermaid, but it’s a great material & color for these toys, so I pick them up whenever I find them.
The Tupperware that T.D. Barnecut is using to get the brown color. A great way of recycling old plastic.
These really are the best ones ever made —- better than the tiny ones made by Marx, and better (because they’re bigger) than the ones made by CTS. Plus, I like the nice brown color better than the blase gray we so often see them in. Can you re-post an address from which to order? Plus a contact email or phone #?
Thanks for the compliment ! I would say that gray is the natural color of a weathered fence or unpainted wooden structure. In the realm of toys, brown is the default color for any wooden object.
