Not bad. In fact, may be the best U.S. Marines ever. Look comparable to Conte’s outstanding Omaha Beach Playset U.S. Army figures.
Don
I have been pleased with Austin Miniatures so far and will pick up these figures when they come out/
Any news on the projected release?
Tom
I figure we should see them in September.
Very nice figures, hopefully the bases will get flattened more on the final product. My only quibble unless the Carbine figure has some officer’s bars would like to see a pistol packing Officer figure in the mix.
the picture of my new Marines was accidently leaked when my photographer sent me the picture on facebook instead of in an email. I have plans to make 4 more figures with this set. an officer with pistol, a flame thrower guy , a radio man with a carbine, and another bar gunner. I will be uploading pictures on my website as asap. I will also release a playset with foam battlefields and amtracks.my sculpter is already working on japs to do battle with the Marines. release date on the first set of Marines will be Chicago or at least by end of the year. thank you for your intrest . Sorry to hear about the accident on the pictures, you have to be careful with posts. That said I am sure the public are happy they can look forward to some exciting new items for the end of the year. Your figures are amazing and we enjoy seeing what you will come up with next.
CORPSMAN CORPSMAN!!!
This is great hobby news. I can hardly wait to see the additional Marines, and above all, the battlefields, the playset, and the Japs.
With the Marx Japanese, the CTS Japanese, the TSSD Japanese and Marines, the BMC Japs (taken from King and Country, and which were truly great) and the CTS Pacific Island field fortifications, and now all this from Austin Miniatures, we will have everything we could possibly want for WWII Pacific Islands set-ups. We couldn’t possibly ask for more. I truly appreciate Austin Miniatures for doing this.
Don
I will agree you can now do a decent battle for the Pacific.
Wow, some really cool figures to look forward to. Cannot wait to have them and too see the Japanese. I would hope that you would try to do a Marine firing a shotgun and one throwing a satchelcharge. Please also consider doing some WW2 late war U.S. Infantry as most of the U.S. Infantry made now are for the Normandy battles.
Thanks
Bobby G. Moore
If they aren’t 1/72 scale they do not do me any good. But I still would like to see them. I have never been able to get the link to work, so I still haven’t seen them.
Unfortunately, Austin Miniatures has taken down the facebook link, and hasn’t yet posted the photos on its own site, which is supposed to happen “soon” (whatever that means). For Conte, “soon” means 5 – 10 years down the road, if then. One of Conte’s current “coming soon” postings has been up for right around 7 years, by my calculation.
Don
thanks for the update I has posted the news on the front page of the web site.
I have some of the Austin Cowboys. Great figures! I have one question no one has responded to yet at hobby bunker forum or treefrog treasures. My “clint eastwood” pose is missing part of the pistol guard. Is this a mismold or intentional? Can’t wait for the marines. Agree should go very nicely with TSSD and Conte. Don’t forget the CTS Japanese tanks for your pacific theatre diorama.
I still haven’t seen the Austin Miniatures Marines.
Ed
the figures are nice. Austin Miniatures accidently had the pictures up on a Facebook page, but has since take them down. Hopefully they will show up on their web site in the near future.
TSSD’s website has a picture posted of the marines under coming attractions.
I just posted my ww2 US Marines on my web site austinminiatures.com , in the next couple of days I will post pictures of my new beachhead battlefield diorama. be sure to check back on up dates of my new Japs and second set of Marines. thanks Dan
Hope all goes well with Marines/Japanese so you can start WW2 Europe,I think your scupltor would make some outstanding Germans,British,Russians, etc for WW2 Europe. And your Westerners need some US Cavalry,Sioux,Apaches to mix it up with eh.Well that should keep you busy for next few years and don’t forget Centennial of World War 1 starts this year.
Mr Beidelschies, what periods/conflicts in history are you interested in?
