Day Two Germany Adventure Woolworth’s More, I continue my adventure in Germany. Markus and I went to various places including a collectible store.
Day Two Germany Adventure Continues
Markus had a meeting so I took my time getting ready. My hotel had a breakfast buffet which was part of my package. This was just one part of the buffet.
The buffet had the gamut from cold cuts to scrambled eggs. You could make pancakes. It was well worth the price.
Markus came over after his meeting and we headed out. Our first stop was Woolworths. We had visited one the night before because of the possible need for a second suitcase. Also, I have visited Woolworths in other countries in honor of my aunt who worked for them. After checking a second-hand store we had a meal at a Greek Grill. The meal came with french fries with mayonnaise on top.
We went to another town that had a small collectible shop. I found a a Heimo (Marx) Lady and the Tramp.. Markus found a cannon that he had only seen in a catalog. We stopped at a coffee shop for some drinks before heading back to my hotel. That night we went to a Bavarian restaurant.
Figure Additions
One group I got was Carnival figures. These figures are sold to raise money for various carnivals throughout Germany. I picked them up for resale as I thought people would like them to add to their displays.
My next post will tell you about the find Markus and I found at a flea market. From it, I kept for myself the Jean pole and rubber dinosaur. The Indian was given to me by the owner of the store where I bought the Heimo Lady and the Tramp.
As you can see we have two Marx Cowboys. The question is from the original molds or not. Give us your thoughts.
I was given these figures by Detlef. They are from Russia and very likely old production.
Finally for now I found at the show this Cofalu Indian. I liked the pose and made sure he came home with me. I have no idea who made the army crawl.
Other Shows
The weekend that I was in Germany at the Germany Plastic Show, Mike Pendergast was at the Midwest Show. He gave two reports You can see Part One here and Part Two here.
The blow mold Russian figures are from Soviet era ,there more in the series.
The “Marx”cowboys looks like copies made in Eastern Europe, many nations did, even in Spain are same poses cloned .
Unless compared with actual Charmore Marx and Marx mold is hard to tell from photo.
Great finds and fun ;interesting in Carnival figures.Looks like a Prussian or German Principality soldier from XVIII century .
