Jordan goes to the San Diego Comic Con. One of that events that Jordan meets with Scott of Mattel. In a previous episode Scott had verified that Jordan had a rare He-Man. Scott is looking for rare Masters of the Universe for the Mattel collection. When a figure line started to drop in sales, the remaining figure line are sent aboard, instead of being marketed here. Masters of Universe had two lines that were sent aboard Laser Powers and Giants. These two lines were sold in Europe. Jordan is given the task to find these pieces by Scott and having them at New York Comic Con.
David , Jordan’s helper and expert on foreign toys has a lead in San Diego for the desired toys, Alex a Vespa motorcycle dealer. Alex goes around the world in search of Vespa and when on these trips also buy toys. Jordan and Dave goes through his boxes. The first item they find is a Micronauts Thorium in the box. Jordan pays $50.00 and Plans to sell it for $75.00. Checking EBay I found three examples of Micronauts Thorium selling for $89.99. Jordan finds a Furby that talks in Japanese, but is next interested in a Doctor Who doll in Italian packaging. The Doctor Who doll is Tom Baker, the fourth Doctor, who was one of the most popular Doctors until the revival. Jordan pays $135.00 and I missed what he was going to sell him at. The doll was done in United Kingdom by Denys Fisher. The more desirable one of the series is the Leela doll. Checking EBay UK I found three examples one at 140 pounds or $232.00 (pounds is at $1.66), another at 95 pounds or $157.70 and a final one at 229 pounds or $380.00. finally Jordan comes up with a Masters of the Universe he needs for Scott a Masters of the Universe Tyutos from the Giant series. Jordan gets the figure for $2000.00 and figures he will sell it for $4000.00 Looking on EBay Italy I found one Tyutos selling for 2990 Euros or $4096.30 ( The euro is at 1.37).
Next Jordan gets a lead that Eric of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee has some of the rare Masters of the Universe that Jordan needs. Jordan goes to Strawberry Plains where he first buys a Masters of the Universe Orko for $60.00, which he will sell for $100.00. Next Jordan Finds two of Laser Power Masters of the Universe He=Man and Skeltor. The cards are not in the best of shape, but Jordan needs them as his time is running out, so he pays $1000.00 for each. Checking EBay UK, I found Skeltor card at auction with the bid at 600 pounds or $996.00 (the pound is at $1.66). I also found a He-Man with a cracked bubble at auction at 401 pounds or $656.66.
The last section has Jordan at New York Comic Con meeting with Scott and showing his three finds. Scott buys the three Masters of the Universe and Jordan makes a profit on his sale.
This has to be the one of the most worse and contrived episodes so far. First Mattel if they were looking for these items would be contacting its members of Masters of Universe Club for help. Second if I had gotten a call from Mattel on these items I would be checking the internet and contacting foreign sources. None of this is shown. Also Jordan covers his weakness of foreign items by having Dave as his expert. I can’t wait to see how Jordan does in his trip to United Kingdom.
