January 2024 Odds Ends Let’s Get Started, I will start this post off with some catch-up of items I missed in my year-end report. I will show some new Russian figures and an item heading to my collection. So let’s get started.

January 2024 Odds Edds Catch-up

In looking back to makers, I missed Expeditionary Force. Scott Lamb has done a great job of adding figures to periods of history that collectors have wanted. Scott has plans for more American Civil War in 2024. Thanks, Ken for reminding me.

We lost Eric Johns after a long illness. Eric had set up a great website for Marx Marx Wild West. He started to look at Marx’s Western but soon expanded to other Marx figures. We had other members of the hobby dealing with various health issues. We wish them well.

New Russian Sets

Publius has done a set of Old West lawmen. The set has eight different figures.

Hobby Bunker (no relationship to Hobby Bunker U.S.) has five different figures.

Plastic Platoon has released various figures. One set is Russian tankers.

Plastic Platoon also did six Russian related to the Battle of Kharkiv. Please note we are showing these figures as reference only. Your country may have restrictions of acquiring goods from Russia.

January 2024 Odds Ends Collection Time

The above figure is the Lone Star Davy Crockett. This figure has been repainted. I have one from my childhood in the collection. My figure had most of its paint gone so I did not realize he was wearing a coonskin hat. I will be showing more items from my collection.

How I Am Doing?

Well, I am doing fine. This year, I was dealing with some health issues sadly my Ab Fib came back and I waiting to get a procedure to get my heart back in sync. Still, I was able to get out to shows in my area. Also, I was able to get to the Plastic Warrior Show wearing a catheter. I was able to find various items for the collection and resale. Because of the Ab Fib, I had to cancel a trip to Germany for their show. I planning to get to Germany and back to the Plastic Warrior Show this year.

We got this month the first significant snow in two years. My neighbor was happy as he could use the snowblower he bought two years ago. He was kind enough to clean the front pavement and around my car. Sherrie and Ronnie took care of the rest. Normally, I would do this, but with my health, I have to let other people shovel snow. We had rain which washed away the snow.

Finally

The sad egotist fool is on a rage rampage. He is upset that people are supposedly copying his material. Naturally, Erwin and I are at the top of his hate list. Erwin and I just laugh at his vitriol attacks. I look at his website for laughs. Occasionally, he makes such an egregious error I have to make a comment. One such error was when he listed a Remco Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea as a 20,000 Leagues figure. It took him several weeks to respond. He admitted he was wrong and blamed it on a brain freeze.

He then talked about the Remco Lost in Space Board Game. He had another brain freeze not noting the game pieces were pantographed down copies of the figure on the left. Another brain freeze when he listed a lead Johillco Roman as a Greek warrior. I wish his “loyal followers ” would send him corrections so I would not have to waste time posting them on my site. Oh, he has a third brain freeze which I will let him find. If he does not find it I will give him a hint at the Plastic Warrior Show.
