The Year 2023 in Review New Figures Changes, I look back at the new figures that were produced. Then we have some changes in some of the various shows. I will give a personal update on my health, what I found, etc.
The Year 2023 in Review New Figures
The year saw many new figures come out mostly in Russia. It seemed like there was one or two new sets each week. While most of the sets were historical some were based on movies.
Elastowit did a series of Planet of the Apes figures. They also did more science fiction figures. Mars Toy Soldiers on the other hand only did one set of Modern Ukrainian Defenders that I remember. (we thank elastowit for their permission to use this photo.)
New figure production in the United States continued its decline. LOD enterprise did not offer anything new this year. CTS Toy Soldiers transferred its molds to BMC Toys. Warhorse Miniatures continued producing its 3D figures but had to stop production due to a move. Mike Prendergast is now getting ready to get back into production. the one bright spot for collectors was the release of the Conte Collectibles Barbarians at the end of the year. The figures have sold very well and Richard Conte hopes to have a second set of Barbarians in the summer.
Changes
The year 2023 saw two shows change hands Wester Coaster and the Chicago Show. Matt Murphy of Hobby Bunker took over both of the two shows. Both shows were moved to different locations and were successful. The London Toy Soldier Show is staying at its present location.
One show I am recommending for collectors is the Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show. This show expanded to two shows a year. The show has a wide range of plastic and metal. I am hoping Steve Pyle will be there with his fantastic displays. Mike Pendergast of Warhorse Miniatures will surely be displaying and selling some new 3D figures. I will be roaming buying stock for resale and may find something for the collection.
My next post will have how I am doing and how 2023 was for me.
we must not forget all the great figures Scott Lamb at X force puts out each month !
Hi Ken
It my rush to get the article I missed Expeditionary Force. I will talk about them in my next post. Thanks for pointing it out.
Elastowit does some interesting subjects but those dang bases really bug me.
