Eric Johns has done an update at his web site www.marxwildwest.com . Instead of me trying to rephrase it, I have put up his message.
Hi,
I have recently updated the site www.marxwildwest.com with pages on Medieval Accessories, Pirates, Skyscraper Building, Sears Store, and Religion. Other than the first one, these pages are mostly empty of photos, but I hope to improve them as I can obtain either photos or the figures and accessories themselves. Good photos of missing item photos, as well as additional information and corrections, are always welcome. I hope that you continue to enjoy the site!

P.S. I have also updated the Playset Magazine Index through Issue 73
Really GREAT site, Eric. Thanks for sharing your labor of love. Great reference guide & wealth of memories. To think what our dear mothers threw out that is now too cost prohibitive to replace!! “Well known” dealer has “near complete” #5940 Skyscraper Playset for sale at $1350!! The then expensive 1957 $8.95 price wouldn’t even cover a minor original accessory piece today!!

What is more amazing someone closed the Skyscraper playset for $2.98. It was one of the set I saw as a child a couple times. I have seen flea markets over the year just the building, but the price is either too high or it has rust. Just remembered I saw someone with two buildings in the last two years. Both of the buildings were missing their base.
(Further thought) : In your article on the Skyscraper set, you mention that the set lacked the “good guy, bad guy” conflict that seemed to help boost playset sales. How’d you like to have a mint in box Untouchables set to combine with a mint in box Skyscraper?!?!? The good guys from the Untouchables would be exhausted chasing the gangsters through the 10 story skyscraper!! For only an extra $6000 – $8000, this dream could be reality today!!
Boy, Paul – if only we were RICH instead of so good looking!!!
first time I’d heard of this site. This is great. I’ve got every PM, but I can never remember which issue had what. The rest of the site is there to make collectors drool. I love it! Saved in favorites….NOW! Thanks for this!
