My Interesting Weekend Seeing Old Friends

My Interesting Weekend Seeing Old Friends, since I could not go to Germany I did two events and had a lot of fun. One was a comic book show, and the other was the Delaware Toy Show.

My Interesting Weekend Seeing Old Friends Comic Book Show

My Interesting Weekend Seeing Wookie

We have a local comic book show that is held several times a year. I decided to go to the show and see what I could find. I did not find much. I did get my photo with a Wookie.

Never ending story dragon

The other item I found was a 3D dealer making various figures. One of them was Falkor the dragon from Never Ending Story. The figure is eleven inches long and he only charged me $5.00! The show will be at my local fairgrounds in April and I will go as it is so close.

The Delaware Toy Show is normally held in April and October. This year due to a conflict the show October Show was held in December. Since I could not go to Germany, I went to the show. The ride is only an hour and a half and I did early rights. The majority of the show is action figures but I was able to find a few things.

My Interesting Weekend Seeing Athena chariot

I got some Marx figures from Kerry, and a woman had this Athena chariot.

My Interesting Weekend Seeing Batman and aHaji

For myself, I was able to add to my collection a Comix of Spain Batman. Comix of Spain was a Spanish company that did various licensed characters in the nineties. The figure on the right stumped me as to who it was. The dealer had no idea who it was but wanted $10.00. Fortunately. there was a Remco Horrible Hamilton pilot in the bag which I could sell to make it worthwhile. Joe Leonard found out for me that the figure is Haji from Jonny Quest. I am sorry that figure no way looks like Haji.

My Interesting Weekend Seeing Old Friends

One thing for me is seeing old friends at the show. One of them was Mark McDermott whom I have known for years. Mark has been in and out of the hospital these last few years and I was glad to see at the show.

My Interesting Weekend Seeing Prof Ouch

Another old friend I saw was Prof Ouch. I have known him for years. Like Mark, he has had health issues and it was good seeing him. The professor deals in wrestling items amongst other items.

Mark Huckabone

The surprise was running into another old friend I had not seen in years Mark Huckabone. Mark is a master dealer in action figures. He has appeared on Toy Hunter and Collector Call. I know he has been in the area as other friends have seen him.

Huckabone and me

The first thing out of Mark when he realized who I was. I still have that case of Mego Batmobiles I bought from you thirty years ago. We talked about various things before I decided to head home after stop at the Jaritta Laurie’s favorite Mexican restaurant.

Glad you were able to meet up with old friends, Paul! I have that Jonny Quest “Hadji” figure (released during the “Real” adventures of JQ back in 1996 and purchased for my kids), so I recognized it immediately. Not a good figure by any means, but I love the original show from the sixties!

      Hi Craig
It is fun to see old friends. As you get older you realize how precious they are.
I missed a number of items over the years. I will use him as a different character in my stories if I ever do any again.
