Old Friends Good Times Odds Ends, one more fun thing from the Allentown Toy Show was I got together with some old friends. Then I have various odds ends that have been floating around and need to be covered.
Old Friends Good Times Gathering of Friends
Sherri and I were getting Sparky for his walk when I received a phone call. Looking at the phone I saw that the call was from Daniel Roebuck. For those who do not know who Daniel Roebuck is, Dan is an actor who has appeared in The Fugitive and Matlock. Dan has also produced and made his own movies. Dan said he wanted to get the old gang together the next day at the Allentown Toy Show. I said yes.
The next day I met Dan with other two old friends at the show John La Mana and Kevin Zimmer. I sat while they wandered around. Dan missed a lot of Captain Action costumes. Dan asked me about a small Roman galley ship and if I knew who made it. I immediately knew it was the Remco Gallant Gladiator. Dan got it at a sale as a child for a quarter.
After looking around we went to a local restaurant Ritz Barbecue. There we talked about old times and Kevin showed a video of his son who runs the local theater in Boyertown PA.
Next Day
We had a good time and was pleased to be with these gentlemen as I saw them grow from young men into responsible adults. Kevin who is back on the left I first met when I took my parents to the Gilbertsville Farmers Market. At that time Kevin shared a space with his grandparents. Kevin now owns several businesses. John who is in front of Kevin had a successful law enforcement career. Dan, I met with another friend who passed away when they worked at a comic shop. Laurie also knew John and Dan before we met.
The next day we met at a local flea market which had a toy show. I walked along with the guys watching them and looking for items. Dan met a fan who asked if he could get a picture with him. Dan was happy to do so. They found a few items. I ended up buying Marx farm lot. It was a nice weekend.
Old Friends Good Times Interesting Photos
Two figures I have added to my collection. The figure on the left. I like the pose. The Starlux German I wonder why the left arm is on the shoulder. I will use part of the staff.
I am amazed at what I find in the inventory. Case in point are these Roy Rogers reissues. I thought I had no more then these show up.
This figure was picked up at the Allentown Toy Show. I believe that this was made to Cane of Italy.
This a Stuart piece you don’t see often. It is travois with packs.
Nothing like getting together with old friends. So good to see you back up and around enjoying yourself. As we used to say, “Keep on Truckin’!”
Happy Thanksgiving to all !!!!
Yes, Happy Thanksgiving! So much to be thankful for.
Yes ,the Roman is one of CANE copies of Marx ,just that they change some details in armor ,shield helmets versus Marx poses .Glad for you Paul and friends !!
Love the Stuart travois figures… did not know of them. Also glad to hear about Wayne W’s good health report. And Paul’s, too.
