October 2023 Odds Ends Russian Figures, I start off this post with some figures I just got in. Then we look at some new Russian figures. Finally, T. Barnecut has a tin version he did of a Britains swoppet knight and news on his spike fence.
October 2023 Odds Ends New Additions
I pick a number of figures for resale besides finding a few figures for myself. Here are three of the most interesting figures. First, the comical cat. I love the wide eyes. I have no idea who made him. Next to him is a Starlux 60mm pirate with an ax. You normally only see the 54mm figures. The figure on the right is a construction worker. My good friend Detlef feels it comes from the architectural supply. He is supposed to convey the size ratio of the models.
Crescent Robin Hood Giveaway
One other item from Detlef is this advertisement for the Crescent Robin Hood that was done in the UK. The figures are 54mm.

T Barnecut
T Barnecut sent me two photos of recent projects. His first was casting the Britains swoppet knight in tin.
the other photo is of his spike fence in various colors. These are injection-molded. I hope to hear what he wants for them.
Dear Stad, I remember the Robin Hood figures growing up during the 1960’s. Kellogg’s Coco Pops breakfast cereal always came with a figure inside the box. The Russian figures look absolutely gorgeous but it’s a pity we can’t buy any due to the current conflict in the Ukraine, or can we? Please let me know, Many thanks to you for your website and constant updates. Without you I don’t think we would know about new releases of figures. All the best toyou.
Intersting in the B Herald knight .
What type mold you use?
The swoppet parts are molded in silicone rubber. Molds can be used for resin or tin / pewter but I prefer working with tin. Pewter mugs and such from thrift stores provide the metal which is typically about 95 percent tin. If the item is not marked ‘pewter’, ‘tinn’ or ‘etain’ then it is not real pewter.
I don’t have a set price for the spike fence pieces but anyone interested can email me. I’m thinking about 2 dollars each but I’m also open to trades.
Thank you for all the information shared and tips .Great to know and learn .
Lot of great looking figures!!!
I like the Tin figure. It looks like a knight in a Victorian era painting. Too bad Conte or someone outside Russia could make Braveheart figures.
Maybe EXF will cover them but hope they are historical, accurate and not base in the movie please ,least the scottish so non historical dressed depicted in the movie .. .
Part of the tin knights project includes integrating cast parts from the hard to find Lone Star swoppet knights so they can be used with the Brit. Swoppet parts.
I’ll send in some photos of the ‘hybrid’ figures.
