September 2023 Plastic Figure Showcase, I have a few items to share including the thinnest Hong Kong western figure. Also, we have some new figures from Russia.
September 2023 Plastic Figure Showcase Stad’s Stuff
As I mentioned in the introduction I found the thinnest figure in a box of parts. I wonder how many different figures were made. I had to add a head to the figure.
One of the things with swoppet style figures is you can merge the figures with other companies’ body parts. The above figure has Dulcop legs with a Timpo body. Normally because the right hand is damaged I would be gutting the figure. I like the pose so I keep it as is and get the hand repaired.
Sometimes I can repurpose a damaged figure. This is a Starlux farm figure. I have imagined in my mind what remains of the farm implement as a knife. He can be added to one of my gangs in my stories.
CSKO spotted this article on the knock-off soldiers and where they are copied from.
I rarely see the color on the left of MPC Russians. Usually, it is the Steel Blue. The light blue was used in the World Patrol Forces by Miner who took over MPC.
New Russian Figures
The first new figures are from Publius and are Frankish Warriors.
Little Man Nomads this set has five different figures.
Hanomak does a set of ancient Russians instead of World War II.
Plastic Platoon is showing the Red Army winter uniform 1943-45.
Hobby Bunker (no relation to the U.S. company of the same name) has done musketeers.
Little Man also shows some figures from their next set Bronze Age Sardinia Nuragic Culture.
A warrior with a sword and a shield
This is a woman of the Nuragic culture
Finally, for now, an archer. Please note the photos are for informational purposes only as we have an embargo with Russia.
They are great figures from Russia. On a separate note. I got from EBAY two knights on horses on a card called Dragon Knights from a company called Kandy Toys. I am just wondering if they did other figures as well.
Could you post send photo here or in the FB blogs of the knights ?
the name sounds as from the factory painted China made for Safari LTD sets.
Hello Erwin I am unable to send photo of the figures. They are like ornament figures them seem to be all in one piece. There is one with a sword and one with a lance. They are in a black and silver plastic. I could see them made in pewter or metal on a mantle piece or desk.
Thank you James ;no problem ,interesting figures description ,not recall seen them .

Ha! James– don’t leave us hanging… :)!
I’m sure someone can ID the figs. Please ask a co-worker, teenaged neighbor, or a relative to take photos and upload to this site.
BTW– on an unrelated note: I am wondering if the MPC Civil War figure molds still exist… If not, maybe somone can scan existing figures and 3-D Print ( and finally rifles and kepis can fit…!).
It seems like the MPC ring hand ACW figures and accessories were re-issued a few years ago. So the molds are still out there somewhere.
Yeah, the Starlux farm figure makes a great free french fighter
The MPC accessory mold has been reissued in blue, gray and black, but the figure mold is not around.
Thanks Kent!
