Steve Pyle Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show 2023. I go back to the Gettysburg Show to showcase Steve’s display. We also have Mike Predergast’s report of the show. I share a memory.
Steve Pyle
One of my enjoyments at the Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show was to meet Steve Pyle. Since I first saw his work on Facebook and at MFCA. I missed him at the previous Gettysburg show.
Steve also wanted to meet me as he is a fan of my site and has bought off from me for his displays. Notable have been Stuart Horses.
the show gave Steve several tables which he and his lovely wife Deborah manned.
Here is an overview of his war elephants
This is an overview of the Saxon shield wall. The detail is amazing.
A look at his siege tower attacking a castle wall. I like how he has a dead man who had fallen from the bridge.
Steve stands in front of some of the awards he has gotten at various shows.
Steve standing with a collector. Steve had a great time and Like to thank him for letting me use his photos.
Warhorse Miniatures Report of the Show
Mike Predergast of War Horse Miniatures had a report on the show. You can read it here.
I showed this figure from Mike in my previous post.
Here is the back of the figure and you can see she is carrying a baby on her back.
I also bought from Mike two-pack horses. Each is different. I am keeping one and giving the other to a friend.
Steve Pyle Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show Figure Memories
This will be a new section in my posts. I will share figures that are not rare, but bring back memories. The first one is the Bonnie Brite mounted cowboy. I remember him as one of the figures I had with me when I was in the hospital when I was five. I was in the hospital for fifteen days with a kidney infection. I don’t know if I still have him in the collection or not. This one came in a big load I bought.
the contains two different horses, two different cowboys, a steer and and a calf.
Paul your photos are out of focus.
Barry I was not thrill with results of my photos. I tried getting away with using my smaller and lighter camera for the show. Unfortunately, I did not realize my essential tremors was that bad until I put them up on the computer. that is why I used Steve’s photos and and a link Mike’s report. I will take the other camera next time.
I’m fine with these photos here .I can seen then clear .Great Gettysburg Show report and figures there .
I agree with Erwin. Photos look just fine to me. Love the idea of posting nostalgic figures. I’ve never seen the Bonnie Brite (Bonnie-Built?) figure, but I sure do know how powerful a childhood memory of some toy soldiers can be- – I bet we all do.
Mike’s new sculpts are great,too.
Texas is wide open – -come visit!
I’m absolutely with Erwin. Enjoyed the pics and went back to a lot of touching childhood memoriea when writing this. Plus knowing having collected to much due to childhood memories meeting shows, ebay and the world wide web with all its pleasures from the dark ‘come on and buy me’ side.
Hi again Paul. Steve is a great guy, as are you. It is hard to take pictures of the 3d printed miniatures because of the resin used to make them. They look a lot better with the details when seen in person. I am working on some new Native poses to be used in a village setting.
@Gary. I will visit Texas one day in a few years after I retire.
great pictures . .Thank you
