Gettysburg Summer Toy Soldier Show 2023, the people who run this fine show decided to do a summer edition. Despite fewer people and dealers, I had a great time. There were things to buy plus I got to meet Steve Pyle and see his fantastic displays. Here are some photos from the show.
Gettysburg Summer Toy Soldier Show The Photos
The drive to the show was not bad despite some road work. I got to the show about fifteen minutes before it opened. Once it opened I went right to Mike Prendergast’s tables. After saying hello to Mike and Carolyn, Mike showed me and gave me his latest figure.
The figure is an Indian woman with a baby on her back. He is planning on doing an Indian village. I later bought another one for a friend in Germany plus other items for my collection.
As I said earlier the crowd and dealers were down. For the people who were there you lots of buys.
One of the people I bought from was Dave. He had a couple of Atlantic Italian sailors and PVC Comansi Western which I bought. From his buddy whose name escapes me, I got a bunch of $5.00 bags of mostly Marx.
Mike who was down from Dave had a number of items for sale including Marx’s military vehicles in tan.
Gettysburg Summer Toy Soldier Show Mark Hegeman
Mark Hegeman had several tables with many different items . Here are some of the figures he had for sale.
Here are some of the mint bags Mark had. Note the MPC Marines have a little metal badge on the header card.
Mark had the Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Seaview and vehicle with figures for $150.00.
Todd Nace
Todd Nace had a lot of different figures for sale. I was able to get some metallic blue 60mm cavalry. I will have photos of Steve Pyle’s fantastic displays.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. The Mint carded Mpc Marines brought back memories, I remember seeing, (and having,), many of these in bags, on cards, in toy toters, and playsets while growing up.
Bobby Moore
Those MPC guys along with the bags of Timmee figures made up the majority of my armies growing up. A Christmas where there was a Marx playset under the tree was special.
Hi Paul. It was nice to see you. The crowd was lighter than the first show this year. This show had a lot more of the collector/vendors than the first show. I had fun talking to all the collectors and found some goodies too. There were a lot of hidden treasures throughout. They are planning two Gettysburg shows for next year too. The first show will be in April again and the second show will at the end of August again. I will get the dates for you soon. I will be updating my website soon and have an announcement about Warhorse Miniatures in the near future. Take care for now, Mike.
great pictures . .Thank you
