This year the people who run the Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show decided on a second show on August 27th. This is a great show with lots of plastic. Mike Predergast has photos up on his website from Todd Nace with what he will have for sale. This is just one dealer.

Mike Prendergast will have his resin figures including his new redcoats. Steve Pyle will have two tables showing his fantastic displays. I will be there buying for Ebay. As before I will be based at Mike Pendergast’s tables. So stop and say hello. See you there.

Interesting Figures

Gettysburg Show Days Away Charbens

Going through my recent major purchase, I am finding little odd surprises. Take for example this army figure with his arm in a sling. He is by Charbens of the UK. I wonder if he was inspired by the Timpo GI arm in the sling.

Sometimes I am looking for something and in my search, I find something for the collection. The above figures are an example of this. The seller listed the figure on the left as being from Pegasus. He did not know where the other figure was from. I recognize it being from an Italian company by the style of plastic. I will have an answer soon.

Gettysburg Show Days Away britains

Britains started the swoppet phenom even though other companies had tried. The best figures they did in the swoppet line were the knights. It is hard to find them complete and parts are getting harder to find. I like the lion headpiece it is the first time I have ever seen it.

Briain Johnson send me some photos of the Scorpion. The FV101 Scorpion is a British armored reconnaissance vehicle, and also a light tank

You can compare the toy to the original here.

The “Scorpion” is the AFV Paul purchased at a Meet(See Steve Pyle’s Horse Conversion Post 30 July for picture)I purchased it from him and re painted it and used a set of Decals from the Cliclac VBC SAM Vehicle “Scorpion”.Think it looks pretty good if I do say so myself,If any one comes across any more of them let me know.

    Hello Paul,
I think the Gladiator on the right was made by Clairet.
