August 2023 Plastic Figures Galore, I am starting this post off with three figures I have added to the collection. BMC has a figure update. Another two new Russian figure sets to make you aware of. Finally, a notice of the Das Awkscht Fescht Toy show.
August 2023 Plastic Figures Interesting Figures
I picked these two figures at the Plastic Warrior Show from my very good friend Detlef Heerbrand. When I got a chance to look at them later, I realized what I thought were conversions are actual new figures based on the Marx 60mm Romans. I sent a photo to Erwin and he told me they are early Cane of Italy. Cane did revise poses with different armor and poses. They later did copies of the Marx poses.
One of my favorite comic strips is The Phantom. (I wish they get a new story for the daily strip as they have dragged it out for a year.) over the years, I have acquired various Phantom figures including a Tarzan figure painted as the Phantom. The above figure I got from Mark Hegeman. I believe it was made in Hong Kong, but I may be wrong.
BMC Product Update
Jeff Imel of BMC Toys has announced an update of various products that were originally done by Marx, CTS, and BMC will be released in November. You can see the list here
August 2023 Plastic Figures New Russian Figures
Store71rus is showing two more new sets. The first is from Plastic Platoon Continental Army. The set has six different figures.
The other set is Women of War. Another set of six figures including two female snipers.
Das Awkscht Fest Toy Show 2023
The Das Awkscht Toy Show will be this Friday and Saturday, August 4th and 5th. The show is located on Lumber Street off Route 100. I have no idea how many dealers they will have as I skipped last year’s show due to just getting out of the hospital ten days before. I will check it out this year and let you know.

The Girls look a little anorexic,would have liked some Standing,Prone shooters as well.
The “sniper ” set looks very boring and the only two shooters are literally same pose just with some different outfits. A waste of poses and plastic in my opinion .
If you look close the 2 Shooters look the same,wonder if the cape is detachable?
