July 2023 Part Two Plastic Figure Showcase, once again I have several interesting figures to share with you. One of them is an item that I have only seen only in the wild three times.
July 2023 Part Two Britains American Express
The first time I saw the Britains American Express advertising piece was at a bank across the street from Hess’s Department Store. I was a child and thought it was neat. Years later, as I started going to flea markets with my parents, I was able to pick up one. Sadly, I sold it and regret it. I found one to replace the original. This is only the third one I have seen in the wild. What is unique about this figure it is the only Britains’ cavalry figure cavalry.
Timpo Indian Woman
Timpo made only two women in their swoppet style line. The first was a woman for the buggy. The other woman is an Indian woman to lead the travois.
The Indian woman was done in yellow and blue. The figure is carrying a child on its back. The figure is leading a travois with supplies. Timpo did a different travois for a wounded civil war figure. Starlux also did an Indian woman with travois.
An Interesting Conversion
I like the swoppet figures as you can make beyond the original pose. This figure is a Transogram cowboy. I found that he was missing a head and I was able to replaced head. a nice addition to my collection.
July 2023 Part Two How I am Doing?
Things are going well for me on the health front. I am busy moving my inventory back to the basement and sorting through what I have. Because of this I am limiting my buying until the Gettysburg show in August. Talk more soon.
I think the mounted cavalry flag bearer is simply The Britains Eyes Right ACW Union flag bearer with the kepi hat head replaced by an officer’s brim hat head or cowboy head
I agree ,good eyes!!
I see one of those American Express riders on eBay for about $35. It’s missing the flag.
