Part Two Steve Pyle Wednesday Market, I have more photos of Steve’s work. Then I relate a visit to a fleamarket I can do on a Wednesday.
Part Two Steve Pyle Master Maker
One of the problems I have is what to put up from Steve as he has so many exciting figures. Here is a Bullyland Roman he bought from me and converted.
Here we have a Saxon shield wall that Steve did from broken figures that were left with Mike Predergast of Warhorse Miniatures.
Another Steve’s work is an Elastolin conversion he did.
A diorama of the Romans versus the Germanic tribes.
A closeup of one of the medieval figures Steve has done the detail is fantastic.
Here is another diorama that Steve did of a castle siege.
Steve has only been exhibiting for a year or so. He has won various awards already including from MFCA. This year Steve won a silver medal in the New Toy Soldier Category.
Steve sent me photos from his latest project a war elephant. Here is a closeup of the archer for the tower.
Here is a closeup of the figure in the tower. I can’t wait to see what other figures Steve does.
Wednesday Market
I have a market on a Wednesday that I have been going to for over 50 years. These past few years I have not gone as often due to heavy competition. I decided to go recently to see what is going on. To me, information is just as important as finding things. The major piece of information was discovered a family friend had set up a luncheonette in one of the buildings. On the grounds I ran into a dealer and a collector both complaining about the lack of material to purchase. Another thing I noticed there seem to be more people selling personal goods
I decided to do the aisles of the flea market to see what I could find. There are other items that I am looking for besides figures. My first find was two 1/72-scale German vehicles in boxes. Then I spotted a box of figures for $10.00. As I went through it I spotted two Marx Freight terminal figures. These figures I can always sell so I bought the box.
When I got home I went through the contents of the box. Instead of two freight terminal figures, there are three. I will put them out for $30.00. Also in the box are two large Payton pioneers with horses which I will put the pair out for $15.00. The most unusual items were these translucent army figures which I have never seen before. Overall I felt the box contents will sell for $75.00. It made the day worthwhile.
Steve does excellent work. The battle figures look very lifelike ,with great details .
Beautiful figures. The diorama’s are as life like, and I love them all.
Nice paint jobs !!!
