MFCA Show 2023 Metal Figures Review

The MFCA show is the oldest toy soldier show in the United States. It has moved to various locations over the years. The show is now located at the Radisson in Trevose, PA. I went today as a friend had some items he wanted to sell..

The show has a weird policy of charging for two days even if you only go one. The main attraction is the beautiful figures on display.

the work on these figures is fantastic. I loved the Tarzan and Young Frankenstein figures.

these are flats that someone painted I would not have the ability and patience to do these figures.

Some more beautiful flats I saw in the display room. More of photos of the exhibits should be on the MFCA website today or tomorrow. You can see past examples now.

Our very good friend Mike Prederast of Warhorse Miniatures was at the show. This was his first time as a dealer. He and Caroline were having a good time meeting a new group of people for his product.

Here is a small look at one of Warhorse Minature’s tables. Mike said that the foam buildings sometimes sell at shows and at other shows they just sit. Check out his figures at his site.
As mentioned earlier, this show is not for plastic. Other than Hobby Bunker, there were only a few dealers with plastic items. One dealer had the Guts Green Beret figures which I picked up.

A pleasant surprise was to see Bill Murphy. I had not seen him in years. We exchanged about our scars from operations. It was good to see him still active. After a few hours I headed for home
Hi Paul. Thanks for stopping by. We did pretty well at this show. Friday was a little slow. But on Saturday things picked up. People flowed in on a regular basis throughout the day. Towards the end one collector made a huge purchase. It was nice to reach out to new people that we would have not seen at the other shows we do. I picked up few books and a BUM 1/32 Tarzan set. We will be back to the MFCA again next year.
hi Mike
I saw that Tarzan set and pass as I had spent enough money. Glad you did well.
The BUM Tarzan set are former Pech Hermanos brand mold sets .BUM only release/reissued some ,no all .PH made several poses of Tarzan and his family .Unfurtunately BUM few former PH sets did not sale well and they stop soon after .
Hi again Paul. I saw it when he was setting up the first day. I took a look at it but wasn’t looking to buy anything. I figured you would pick it up. As I walked around the second a day around 1pm to take some pictures I noticed he still had the set. So, I inquired about it then.
Mike like I said I thought about but I had just bought a lot for resale. I am glad you got it.
It is nice, I have been looking for their Pirate set that they had made. I was lucky to find it online last night. Both will be part of my collection for a while.
