Delaware Toy Show 2023, I had an enjoyable time again at the Delaware Toy Show. I have some news of various new Russian toy soldier sets.
Delaware Toy Show 2023 Fun Again
One of my favorite shows is the show held in Delaware twice a year. There were several reasons I like it the chance to get some new dealers from my normal area,
Another reason is to see old friends like Tom Black. Tom is from North Carolina and I have found some great items over the years. We bonded over our interest in Vaughn Bode. I forgot to asked why he grew a beard.
Another old friend who goes by the name of Professor Ouch on Facebook. He has had a number of health issues including losing a leg and heart attack. Despite all his advertises he is still going and fighting. Another old friend I saw was Mark Mc Dermott. Mark told me that he was getting back into collecting playsets.
Another person I was looking for was Kerry as he always has a great selection of items at reasonable prices. I was able to a nice selection of figures for resale.
I had the axiom of Bugs Bunny happen. “I should have made that right turn in Albuquerque.” When I entered the building I went left instead of right. If I had turned right I would have found a couple selling a collection of new and reissued plastic. Fortunately, I found them before others and got a nice selection including an original Marx 51 tank. It is mint except for no wheels. I would like to thank my very good friend Mark McDermott for use of his photos.
New Russian Figure Sets
There are a number of new sets being offered from Russia. The first one is listed by Hobby Bunker (No relation to the U.S. company of the same name.) I had shown these figures from Warhansa.
Hanomak has done this Kettenkrad HK 101 with Driver, Passenger, and Car
Another Hanomak offering is Viking” tank division set from Hanomak soldiers
Little Man has a set of eight figures from the Khmer Empire 12th to 13th centuries.
We have two sets from Publius. The first set is Cowboys.
The second set is Normans. They have been done in the color of Conte Collectibles. They are available from Andrey Buslov. You can order them from my friend Andrey Buslov here.
Please note the showing Russian figures are reference only. Please be aware that there are restrictions on buying from Russia.
Great detailing on the cowboys / cowgirl but also very Hollywood.
Some mid-1800’s styled common townsfolk in 54mm scale would be more useful to many collectors. Just sayin’.
Have the Russian manufacturers spoken out about Ukkraine ??? Otherwise patronise Sergei M Elastowit from the Ukraine.
Danny
As far as I know, no Russian maker has spoken out. If they have negative feelings they keep them to themselves due to fear of persecution.
As I stated before I only show their figures for reference.
I agree we should promote Elastowit which I have done in the past and will continue.
This is from the 1/72 scale “world” of plastic, but I thought it might be of interest here. Anton Derbilov, one of Strelets-R’s premier sculptors has been killed fighting in the war.
Strelets-R is based out of Ukraine, Anton was just one of several from the hobby world lost in the fighting. His talents brought Strelets-R to a new level of excellence. The world IMHO is diminished by his loss.

I thought folks might be interested.
Addendum: For examples of his work, check out their War of Spanish Succession Series – I understand he was the only sculptor on that series. As I recall, he sculpted 1:1 so all that detail was done in 1/72 scale. Amazing to me.
Very sad tragedy out of many Ukrainians are suffering.I was also informed that the former Marx sets molds that were in Ukraine since Soviet era and recast several time till recently were lost as place was labeled destroyed complet .It was located very near the areas invaded and occupied by Russians .
Elastowit been covered plenty time from its beginning here ,included first interview .Here are the links for severals of its promotions products from this blog posted before .
