March 2023 Peter Evans’ Treasures

March 2023 Peter Evans’ Treasures, I have some interesting figures that my very good friend Peter Evans sent me. Finally, I share some figures I have gotten at an auction.

March 2023 Peter Evans’ Treasure Interesting Figures

March 2023 Peter Evans' Fortnite
I received a package from my very good friend Peter Evans. It is an interesting mix of figures. The first item from the box is Fortnite 2.5-inch figures. Here are two of the three that Peter sent me.
March 2023 Peter Evans' GI Joe
Another item that Peter sent me was these two GI Joe figures. One of the figure’s bubbles opened and I was able to take the figure out. The figure needs a base as it will not stand on its own.
Peter included these figures. I have no idea where they came from. The sitting figures will go toward my future city.
March 2023 Peter Evans' conversions
Peter sent two figures. The one on the left is by Cofalu he repainted and changed to a French sailor. The figure on the right is a conversion of the Crescent 54mm British soldier with a flamethrower to an Australian flamethrower.
the wall
Peter also sent this small wall that could be used in any era.
March 2023 Peter Evans' warrior
Finally, one more figure from Peter. I know the figure is from Play Along Lord of the Rings. I think it is a conversion. Hopefully, Peter will let us know.

March 2023 Peter Evans’ Auction Surprise

Britains Swoppet Confederate
this past week, I won a box of figures from a local online auction. I saw a few figures from the photos that I felt I would bid on. I got the box and sort it out. One of the figures I had hoped to be perfect a six-inch Gold Marx British marching was not. Still, I got enough figures to make it worthwhile. I also got some interesting figures. The first was a Britains swoppet confederate officer on kneeling legs.
March 2023 Peter Evans' Nardi
The other was a surprise of two Nardi of Italy Cowboys with extra legs. These figures are swoppet type. I was surprised to see them as the rest of the box was either American plastic or Britains.

I also own several of those sets by Viikondo, Erwin. I’m not crazy about the loose, over-sized, hard plastic bases however, but otherwise, these fill the gaps in my WW2 Asian/Pacific campaigns.

Do you, or anyone else for that matter, know where we can order separate “flat style” bases for these or any other figures?

      I’ve Google-searched without positive results.

I know some war gamers use small sections of linoleum tiles in their setups but I’m wondering if bases are sold exclusively by anyone?

Thanks in advance for any information that anyone can provide.

      • ERWIN SELL says:

I understand your frustration with bases. That is why i glue one pose each from their set as mentioned in the post reviews I made .Unfortunately I have not info in any supplier of simple plastic flat bases .One suggestion could be buy cheap chinese Airfix clones and cut off their bases to be used in these new figures .Otherwise buy at craft/fabric store or any other store any thin layer lamines of plastic sheets that can be cut in many bases and used for as well as far the wight of cut part support the figure stable enough .my thoughts .

        • Joe Costa says:

Thank you Erwin. That’s a good suggestion. Perhaps this opens an opportunity for someone to manufacture bases separately so that collectors can either replace thick, gaudy, surfaces of current figures or add them where they are missing.

          • Wayne W says:

I’ve found thin plastic sheets from places like Michael’s and Hobby Lobby work great for bases. I cut them to size for both baseless figures and those figures whose bases are so thin they have a hard time standing on their own.

  2. TD Barnecut says:

I have a small plastic injector and can machine simple molds from aluminum plate. If you send me some idea of what you need the bases to look like – size, shape, dimensions, thickness, etc. I could try to make something you might use?

  3. Greg Liska says:

I use coffee lid plastic, or any other such lids. You can get them in just about any color, although you might have to buy some food item you’re less than thrilled with. The plastic is just thick enough to not be flimsy. It paints up fine, too. I like to keep a lot of black and silver-grey lids for most projects.

  4. The Britains Confederate is a firing private with sword arm instead of firing one and the officer’s head.
The post-apocalyptic figure is based on one where there was a nuclear war in the 50s or 60s and the society which resulted. It is based on a computer game which I forget the title of.
The German with grenade looks like a BMC figure but I am not certain.
