February 2023 Odds Ends Fleamarket Time, I start off this post with a new set from Publius. Next, I started my flea markets and I find an interesting find. Finally, I added back an iconic piece of equipment from an unexpected source.

Pouch Three
Finding a New Pouch
I hire Sherri, Sparky’s dog walker to help in cleaning the house. For Sherri, it is a treasure hunt. Sometimes you find a treasure other times not. She found five military items from Laurie’s father, who had been in WWII. Two were very common patches and two were duffel bags. The fifth item was the treasure a small army bag like my other pouches. Of all of the places to find it. I will start using it right away as I have a small toy show on Sunday.
Health Update
I had my second EKG this week and the heart is still in proper rhythm. I feel fine and will start making plans.
Sparky is doing good and is having lots of fun. He is making friends with various dogs which he could not do when we had Percy as Percy was very anti-social. Today, he made friends with an Irish setter. What Sparky did not know a gray cat was walking behind the setter. The cat follows the setter when he goes for a walk. The funny part is the cat does not live with the dog but is a neighbor’s pet. The cat seeing that the dogs were making friends moved along aside from Sparky and rub its body along Sparky’s. Sparky was all confused and did not know what to do. We will see what happens the next time.
Hi Paul. I almost got into a fight with a guy at a church flea market a couple of years ago. I was talking to a young guy that was selling toys and comics. As I was going through a box of comics this guy bumps right into me and starts grabbing things out of the box. I was polite at first and said to him “I was here first and will be done in a minute”. He then proceeded to grab more of the comics out of the box. Then I snapped. I told him, “If you don’t get out my face, you are going to have a f*cking problem” and a few other words. Then I grabbed the comics out of his hands. I think I said something about covid too because he was touch me too. Anyway, he left, there was now a crowd of people staring at him. People just rude. I always wait until someone is finished looking at something.
I usually do not have problems at shows or markets. The last incident was ten years ago.
I feel I have gotten a lot of good stuff and if someone got it was their turn. I missed Toy Hunter (Jason Hembrough) from pulling an item from a party. I would have pulled it from him and balled him out.
The best one is a friend who helped me at a show. He told people he was their bodyguard to protect me from them. LOL
Paul, Great news that you are back on the flea market trail! Before I rented tables to sell stuff at shows, I always used a US Army bag as well just to shop. I now have plenty of regular customers at shows buying items from me and putting them into Army or Boy Scout canvas packs. I guess I’ve been lucky at shows and never had a “grabber” when shopping….BUT….. I’ve had some customers at my tables that I’ve run off for roughly grabbing and dropping items in quick order…so these folks are probably the same that would grab from a fellow shopper!
Glad to see you back at it Paul.
I had problems with rude folks at the last show I attended. I ended up just walking away because it wasn’t worth getting into it with jerks. I guess I’m mellowing in my old age.
I use rucksack all time as well since boy .I love it still.

The bag is very convenient especially if I have a camera along.
I still enjoy building and painting Imrie/Risley lead military miniatures. It’s a wonderful hobby!
Glad to see you back at it Paul.
