Plastic Figures News September 2022 Britains Warhansa, I have a lot of plastic figures news to share. First, we have a photo from Hobby Bunker of Britains’ Civil War artillery set. This is the first new Deetail figures in years. Next, we have new figure sets from Warhansa. Finally, Publius has a new set of ancient Greeks.

Does anyone know where to find call to arms pikemen. Also does warhansa have a website?
Hi Everett, for the Call to Arms you would have to go to the aftermarket for Pikemen. For Warhansa here is their website https://warhansa.com/
thanks.
Steve Weston still lists the ECW pike set.

Thanks.
i am looking forward to the britains sets, as long as they are reasonably priced. i remember liking the deetail line as a kid; they were the bridge between marx playsets and painting my own military miniatures.
It would be interesting to see the Britains sets painted in single colors (light blue & gray) to augment Civil War plastic figures like Conte.
The Britain’s sets on the Hobby Bunker website are $50 each. There are at least 3 different cannon types & two possible crews, so a $300 investment to collect them all.
When the additional figures come out they will likely be in the same price range.
I’m ok with the vintage I have and the HK clone made in silver .No need for more .There plenty cannons to choose from to add or swap around made by BMC-two types ,chinse later made sold under various marks ,AIP ,CTS, metal many cheap sold ,HK and else .
Carl’s comment brings up an interesting idea…
Many hobbyists don’t paint their figures. There is a certain aesthetic when looking at formations of unpainted figures. Sometimes it’s easier for the eyes/brain to discern what is happening when the set-up is simplified.
I think the Britain’s ACW figs unpainted would be very exciting. Actually, any of the company’s range would look great unpainted.
Although the factory does a wonderful job, there are hobbyist painters like me that would enjoy painting a “blank” figure of Britain’s quality.
Several years ago, I had a brief email exchange with the owner of “Battlefield Legends” (Great products, BTW). I asked him about possibly releasing a line of unpainted DSG “deetail” figures –maybe in flat white or flat black.
He did kindly reply to see what eras would be popular. I appreciated that.
There is a product called ‘krud kutter’ which removes paint from most plastics without harming the plastic. I use a small glass pickle jar which I fill with the product, then immerse the figure or plastic model part overnight. It works fast then just wash the figure in warm soapy water and let dry. With Deetail figures you would want to remove the metal base first, then put the figure back on the base afterward.
Yeah I REALLY wish they had done the “Deetails” on a FLAT base.
Someone was making flat plastic bases for Deetail figures, I want to say Don Ducot but I’m not certain. The base has to be thick enough to accommodate the ‘T’ shaped pegs under the feet.
Warhansa’s “Martin the Mercenary” depicts Rutger Hauer as Martin in the excellent 1985 film, “Flesh & Blood”.
