Part Two August 2022 Odds Ends Flea Market Time, I finally was able to get to a flea market. Next, I will share photos from the collection. While it is up I have a link to an Ebay offering on a Plastimarx catalog.
Part Two August 2022 Flea Market Time
My only find was a little box with Hong Kong Western figure parts. Also in the box were these four items. The horse on the left is by Fleetwood which made it for the Legend of the Lone Ranger. It is a Tonto’s horse. I have no idea who made the next two figures. The Indian is by Michel of France.

Part Two August 2022 Odds Plastimarx 1961 Catalog
Our friend Rahway spotted the following listing on Ebay for a 1961 Plastimarx Catalog. the catalog is 60 pages. The seller has listed several pages including some of the figures available at that time. I figured the original owner was a train collector. It sold for $78.00. Check it out before the pictures disappear.
The first pic is my favorite. I don’t have the Tonto horse, but I wish I did. Nice find!
The little dancing boy is a bit silly, but nicely sculpted. Maybe a ‘Peter Pan: figure?
If he was common, I’d modify the ballet hands and paint him to look like barefoot waif from ACW times.
The white plastic fig on his side might be an English footballer. A skilled painter could modify him to be a wounded soldier….
The kneeling Indian is likely Michel. I don’t have this exact figure, but I have quite a few Michel cowboys ‘n’ Indians.
The next photo featuring the mix of fantasy figs doesn’t do much for me. But, a non-fantasy-fig-collector could say the ” Marx Warriors of the World” don’t float his boat, either.
As for the damaged Roman fig… I would, of course, keep him. I walk a few miles every day at area parks. I often find “squished” figures.
Finally (at last!), the 1961 Mexican Plasticraft sales catalogue is a gem!
The only thing missing is a Sears/REMCO/ IDEAL/Hasbro Time Machine so you can actually go back in time and scoop up all those beautiful replica weapons!
Lastly: I love the Stad’s Stuff website. Please post pics and posit opinions.
For Christmas one year back in the sixties, when I was about ten, I got the Remco “Big Caesar” Roman warship for Christmas, and my little brother, who was five, received the non-motorized, smaller “Little Caesar” boat. His figures were yellow, like the standard bearer you found in the gutter, Paul. My figures were molded in silver and red (same poses, different colors), and I was very disappointed because they were all marching figures–no action poses at all! My ship also came with a cardboard castle that I put together. I still have a few of these figures, but I’ve never liked them much. I’m glad you are able to get around with a cane now, Paul. Keep up the rehab and take care!
I did not have the Remco Big Caesar and did not want it as it took up too much room. I am trying to do rehab as I can. I will do a toy show next month.
