As reported in various forums, Paragon Scenic and Miniatures is showing in their Coming Attractions Alamo Texans. The set will be of four poses: attacking with tomahawk and knife, stabbing with bayonet rifle, stabbing with knife and laying on the ground firing a pistol. The set will also come with a set of two heads so you can make changes to the figures. The figures will be compatible in size to the Conte and TSSD Alamo figures, which may upset some people who were hoping they would be compatible to the Marx and CTS Alamo Figures. Paragon hopes to have these figures available for OTSN in September. You can preview the figures at the web site below.

I see he re-cycled a couple of the poses from cavalry poses, but that’s cool, if they fit in re-cycle them I say.
I like them, he usually does good action poses and I see conversion possibilities, i ‘ll buy them.I wonder if the Mexicans are on the docket.
It’s not the first time a manufacturer has recycled poses – or even figures from one set to the next. Ol’ Louie Marx and MPC were great at swapping the same figures to fill in for other things. And I remember looking at my old Airfix 1/32 scale figures one time and realized they were composed (for the most part) of eight to ten basic poses with different weapons and uniforms. I agree with you Ed, I like them. I think there is a set of Mexicans to go with them, that’s what he told me in Texas. Then he said he wanted to move on to something else. I’m hoping there’ll be some more poses to this set but if not they’ll compliment what I already have nicely.
I know a lot of people re-cycle poses, Conte did it, Plastic Underground does it, AIP and I think even Barzso. Marx did it mainly by just changing colors, the others re-tool the pose a bit so to speak, the pose reamins the same but they may have a different hat , helmet, uniform, weapon etc. Nothing wrong with that at all.
Anyway I think Paragon will do Mexicans as well, he mentioned in Chicago he would, in fact he came to our table and we gave him a Marx Mexican he wanted to use a sample. Plans change, but that was the last i heard.
That’s good news to hear he’s still on track. Looking forward to seeing them – plus getting my hands on the Texians.
