Finally someone did Musketeers! Looking forward to these two sets by Chintoys.
We need more sets based on the old Classics.
Plastic Platoon’s Soviet Marines, Defense of Leningrad, 1941 is not a new set, it’s existed since at least 2020. Is this news of a reissue, like we saw with the Vietnam figures?
Tom
You are very likely correct. There are so many new figures coming out it is hard to keep them straight.
Thanks for the correction.
Fantastic to see the musketeers! Wonderful! And Warhansa landsknechts: fantastic!
GREAT NEWS for the New Year !! Love the Musketeers & Pirates. Finally reinforcements for the Jecsan Musketeers(who look EXCELLENT when painted) & color almost matches. We can always count on Paul for the latest in New Releases & upcoming sets.
I see most or all new since early 2021 come from East Europe such from Russian and Ukraine ,even 3D maker are from Europe and EXF from Singapore-China designers makers .New makers here in US are literally an extinction today .
The Landsknecht are awesome and the depiction of action using Zweihänder are only been done before by Elastolin Hausser in their 70 mm range scale and by Merten too in 45 mm .Few German makers such JH,KO-HO,Manurba as well Starlux an others included some same period soldiers in their late medieval set .Recently CHINTOY made few set of same period with some representation of them
Landsknecht .They belong to early modern period wars era or late medieval period ,while is common the use of Renaissance as part of war or historical events period by some , there not such thing as that because Renaissance is a cultural art and social movement within the early modern period .Renaissance movement is not political war historical period per say ,yet it influence strongly the early modern period . I see EXF uses same terminally .While many wars occurred in what is called the renaissance period they have all different war names and no call renaissance wars .Renaissance as hold is even disputed as when really started as differ from countries .
EXF will cover these early modern period wars as well base in their announced future plans long ago .
my thoughts
I like the musketeers and appreciate any new set ,but most are specific the sword buckle musketeers poses from the book characters contrary to most CHINTOY set pure historical .So personal I’m disappointed in this set .I prefer the historical unit by the name and their main weapon -musket ,no swords that was very rarely used in battle by such unit unless last option very close quarter action for which they were not used or intended to be use as others infantry spearmen and light infantry units attached to them and in charge of protecting musketeers units ,hopefully EXF does them in their future set or CHINTOY does another correct unit set on drill firing poses .
For the book representation I myself have enough from Jecsan,CANE,COMA ,Starlux and few others .
I was gonna ask why they did not have muskets on the chintoys Musketeer figures Erwin cleared that up. thanks!
Looks like one of the 1/32 MARS U.S. Rangers sets is out. Check out the CTS website.
