Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures Preview

Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures Preview, I am privilege to show you some of the future figures coming. You need opponents to fight their Romans, so Ricard Conte has planned a series of Barbarians. As you can see these figures are just as exciting as his Romans.

What I like about each figure is in an action pose not standing around.

The Poses

Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures four poses
Here are the first four poses. They are as follows:
  1. Charging with a spear in his right hand and an oval shield in his left hans.
  2. Axe overhead while charging I wonder if it is inspired by the Marx Viking which you cansee on Kent’s page.
  3. Running with a a spear in his right hand and round shield.
  4. Charging with a sword in his right hand and asix side shield in his left hand.

Another look at the figures. Note two of the figures of this group have capes.
Facial Closep
The Barbarian running with a spear is wearing animal skin as his helmet, very likely a wolf.

Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures fifth pose
Here is the fifth pose standing getting ready to throw a spear and holding a round shield.
Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures six pose
Th sixth pose is a barbarian charging with a hammer and a round shield
Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures seventh pose
The seventh pose is standing firing an arrow into the air
Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures arrow man
A close-up of the bowman’s face notices the expressions.
Conte Collectibles Barbarian Figures
I like the detail on the quiver with arrows in it. The eighth pose is not shown here. It is a kneeling barbarian shot within an arrow from a Roman archer. I am sure these will be as popular as their Romans

They look really fantastic. Much like the Romans. Great figures, exceptional detailing, very animated poses, and accurate depictions of the way the various combatants actually fought with one another. Can’t ask ask for more than this…

are they ever going to be actually available

  3. ERWIN SELL says:

Amazing detail and dynamism in al poses .Great depiction in realistic leathers of Germanic Barbarians, could be used as Viking ,early Saxons, Jutes, Frisians as well .Also as some of western Gaul’s early people and goths
    Valhalla awaiting !!!

  4. Tom Black says:

Very nice, lots of action poses. Would be curious to see how these fit in with Ex-Force and TSSD Germanic Barbarians.

These figures look fantastic, Great detail and dynamic poses. I think they could be used as various Warriors from different countries and parts of History. I saw the excellent review that Erwin done on the Conte Romans that are also really nice figures. I liked the comparisons with other figures so that you could see exactly what scale they are and if they would fit in with other figures from other Toy Soldier makers. My only question would be are these Barbarian figures exactly the same scale as the Conte Romans, Or are they a bit bigger like the Ex-Force Barbarians compared to there Roman counterparts?

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Conte barbarians should be exact perfect match blend with romans just made .So they should be same scale as Romans unless given a bit tall appearance .I Have not see the EXF barbarians next to the romans as bigger ,they both described as exact same scale also .So I do not know about that .
On Conte the roman with standard is a bit taller than rest ,a correct depiction as often signifer ,aquilifer and Vexillarius were often choose among tallest ,stronger veteran or experienced soldiers .Conte not for first time often made some poses a bit taller versus other in same set .A true realistic depiction as when makers had done all in same scale that is a wrong perception .
Not a single squad, small unit else in any army have all at same exact high ,unless guard of honor choose to looks like that and even that is many time not accomplished.

TSSD brand barbarian two posses appear to look 2 mm taller than their Romans but so far rest are same scale .TSSD romans and barbarians are a bit taller than CONTE ,definitely 1/30 scale as shown in my compare photos with TSSD-Conte Romans .
LOD enterprise ancient are the tallest of all in a /30 or taller scale for sure .They blend well with Atlantic ,Supreme and elastolin, Starlux ,but too tall for most others in my view .

The poses of CONTE barbarian are very alike previews metal poses done in some of them ,also few may had taken idea base in the Elastolin Viking/barbarian else poses maybe if ever or not ..
      my thoughts
      best

I haven’t seen the Ex-Force Barbarians compared to the Romans because although they are really nice looking figures as you know Erwin i dont like big figures so ive never brought any of these because they are very thick figures that dont fit well with many other makers, But i did hear that Ex-Force had done the Barbarians a bit taller/bigger in keeping with the historical fact that these people were a bit bigger than there Roman enemy. On a personal level i’m hoping the Conte Barbarians are exactly the same scale as the Romans as i think they are just within the limits of not being too big for me to buy them and as i say they are lovely looking figures, But i just wondered if Conte would make them a bit taller/bigger as well? If you get hold of some it would be great if you could do another excellent review as you did with the Conte Romans a few months back. As usual thanks for all the interesting info on these and many other figures.

Could there be a Battle of Teutorborg Forest plates on the horizon?

  7. Carl Shatley says:

I mean’t to say playset on the horizon.
