Great to see Brits in Mk III helmets! Something different! It may have been discussed and I missed it, but any idea of the scale of these ‘blokes’? The stuff from Ex Force I’d seen previously was about 65mm.
EXF British should be around that size ,Japanese measures comparison could be seen in this post link bellow I did with other brands ;they are around 55/56 mm but very thicker in volume overall. Hard to perfect match with many others .Even so generally they are correct measures from feet to head as 54 mm the body volume made them in the 60 mm range in the Japanese. On British as well with Germans ,American they will go with 60 mm and up

The other XForce WWII Germans and Americans came in his version of “60mm” and WWII Japanese in his version of “54mm”. To me, it would have made more sense to make all the WWII forces in one scale or another?
Size wise, I just pulled out a random 54mm militia figure that measures at around 55mm from foot to top of hat.

Great job on the Alamo Greg. Always fun to see what others are doing.
As for Ex Force the size compatibility is my major check in buying their WW2 figures as nice as they are.
I bought their 1812 militia sets for Alamo figures. They are a bit larger than most of the other companies (I have comparison shots somewhere) but if I place them right it’s okay.
One of the major “tragedies” in my toy soldier world is that I can’t use my 60mm+ Auburn cowboys with my Marx, Airfix, Britains, Timpo, and P&P Western figures. The Auburns are my favorite sculpts but just too big to fit in.
I guess though, if this is my biggest problem, that life is generally OK!! 🙂
Also, 60mm old Marx Town and Ranch Cowboys are much bertter than the 54mm they made. They get stored with the Auburns……
Thanks, Wayne. As projects go, that one wasn’t too intense.
I know the Ex Force figures will be AT LEAST 60mm and probably leaning into 65mm. The Japs are smaller, but so were the living ones. Ex Force may have taken that into account when they made them, I don’t know. I only ever seen pics and with so much of the same topic being done over and over, I don’t look too close.
I accommodate scale as I can with others, there no way I could use only one scale all over.too many pretty nice figures made.Better give then their best match as I can blending with best match as possible.
I do not fight with scale. If I can not match one I look around if I have doubts I wait to see any other collector compare images to decide. Even so pics could be no well do ne and deceived, so you still have a risk and just buy one set to see first.
Makers once start won’t change as then will have to do 2 or 3 scales of same set to accommodate all likes .So if EXF start with their own “1/32” and 1/30 them they will stay on it till end regardless. They know wherever they made will be bought in large amounts as they sale well since beginning.
Very cool Greg! It’s neat to see someone else’s creative interpretations especially with the tin litho Alamo. I too after reading some articles from some of the guys who got the privilege of growing up with the original Marx Alamo playset and hearing some of them say that they had wished that the tin Alamo had been larger I am in a slow process of creating a much larger tin litho Alamo using mostly all original pieces from several sets in hopes to end up with a large, complete Alamo but retaining that classic tin litho look. I enjoyed checking out your pictures! Feel free to check out some of my toy soldier creations at https://patricksplatoon.blogspot.com/ Thanks!
