Happy Tenth Anniversary WordPress, March 2011 is the month we first used WordPress for this site. I use the anniversary to reflect on Stadsstuff and more.
Happy Tenth Anniversary WordPress Background
When I first started my list of selling figures I included a page of information. I called it Comment Time. The page had various news on the hobby. I learn on doing a page of comment from Joe Hehn, who was in the mail order business. (Joe passed away last year.) The page was important especially before the advent of magazines and the internet. When I moved to the internet, I continued Comment Time on my site. With the internet, I could now show photos from shows, new products, and from my collections like aboveOver the years, I had two localhost providers go out of business. Worse the program I was using FrontPage was discontinued. I was forced to get a new program. After reviewing, I selected WordPress. this program has been around since 2003. It had many features my old program did not have. One of the new features was a comment section. Most people enjoy a chance to leave their thoughts on a topic. We have had some interesting discussions.
Now
Right now is an exciting time for us. We are seeing more new figures come out than in a long time. I have been glad to share these figures with you. The most interesting figures are from Speira Miniatures. Instead of using the standard methods of making figures, they are using 3D printing. We will see if other people go this route.
Final Note
It is a pleasure to share my love of the hobby with you. I want to thank various people for helping with the information. they are CSAko, Rahway, Gary DiBello, and especially Erwin Sell. I have slowed down my output lately due to other commitments, but I keeping sharing.
Congratulations, Paul, on ten years of WordPress software!
I always enjoyed reading your printed “Comment Time”
section from your merchandise lists of yesteryear, and I
always look forward to your internet version. Thanks so
much for all you have done for our hobby over the years,
and please keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Craig W. Scribner
I add my congratulations, like Gary and Craig I used to look forward to your newsletter and I enjoyed the talks we used to have on the phone when I’d call in an order. Now Stadsstuff is one of my daily visits (usually more than once) when I do my “rounds” on the net to start my day. Thanks for your efforts.
Thanks for all the effort and patience to continue the site. I personally benefit from the announcements of new figures. I first learned about Plastic Platoon from Comment Time. The 7th Cavalry Soldier firing over his downed horse is one of the personal favorites in my collection.
The best blog to get last news on plastic figures and many vintage .I rather read off blog than magazine as faster and free easy way to have answers.
Best luck and thanks x hard work and dedication.
