Last Toy Show 2020 Marx Pioneer Woman, I got one more toy show in for the year. It was an interesting experience in these crazy times.
Last Toy Show 2020 Figures Galore

I went over and found a few interesting items.
One of the interesting items was a pioneer woman loading a rifle. while the figure is common, it is rare in this color chocolate brown. It is the first one I have seen.

What Did I Get For Myself

As child for some reason the woman was a old lady and i often put her as swiping with Brum inside the cabin. Yet it stay in my collection from my dad as old beautiful memory along the rubber made poses .
The camel was recast by Marx in the set made by Mexican I introduce here recasting the Marx Arab poses .
I think it was typical classical use of generic animal for other purpose. The camel has not seat mount and was not intended as a riding camel, yet Marx use it .Good though and economic way use it .Same way they use same cavalry horses as well in FFL captain Gallant playset .
From my did I still keep the early 1930s US infantry by Beton and the later(as one above) I wish they had done all rest poses with British helmet with mask to be use in WW1 even so they have 1930 uniforms .A s child I only had few so I could not take heads from two gas mask poses and place in others. Later I find out a recast made of resin of most poses here in US .I wish I could have get hand on those recast back then.

i love the swoppet concept: it adds color to figures and offers a variety of poses with easy customization.
as a kid, i remember how fascinated i was with a Transogram(?) cowboy i got from the dentist’s toy box (i guess i got rewarded for not squirming too much).
however, so many of them look awful. the Britains line was nice, and some of the later Timpos were okay, but most of the rest were so clunky and awkward that i don’t think they’re worth collecting.
The best Swoppet/swivel are Herald or Spaniard brands early figures .The Timpo multipart concept that differ from Herald used by many other British copiers later and HK made figures with body and arms legs in very unrealistic poses more likely robot style ,yet they were precursor of action figures .The Timpo colorful figures and availability to swap give children a different concept of playing but depart far rom standard classic toy soldier of course .That is why today those few trying make alike style such figures using Timpo concept such Heritage company fail so poor in their business as not enough followers ,specially here in US .Timpo is more likely a nostalgic x European as well 70/80 generation who absorbed the HK, Transogram and others same style .
MY thoughts
Best
The cannon looks like(hard to see) the ones from the Fort Liberty playsets.
The cannon is correct. These figures were sold in bags with the cannon, scaled down copy of the Britains AWI cannon. Sold in Zodiac toy chain in the UK in the 1970s
Thanks for the information. The cannon was first used in Bicenntial sets.
The unmarked Indian between the two Bergen Toy & Novelty cowboys was made by Ajax who sold a nearly identical line of cowboys and Indians as Bergen.
Merry Christmas Everyone.
May Santa have brought you all, again, the gift of childhood..
Paul, Erwin, everyone thanks for an enjoyable year of postings.
Stay safe
