A rumor is floating around the internet that a major company is doing something that will have people talking. These new figures may start a trend in plastic figures.
We may have an answer to this rumor. We were checking the French Plastic Forum when we spotted a topic King and Country doing plastic. Checking the topic, I found that one of the French collectors has found in the metal forums that King & Country was looking into doing plastic figures. Going through the Treefrog forum, I found in the King & Country section, there was a series of postings on King & Country doing plastic. The first posting was from Andy Neilson the owner of King & Country telling about how they got into looking at plastic. Eighteen months ago, someone had seen the 24 foot diorama at Kings X. They wanted one that would be two to three times the size of the one of Kings X. While they had someone do the layout, they realized that they would have 1500 figures on the board and metal figures would be too heavy for the display, so they designed a Mexican army in resin plastic.
King & Country had been thinking about making soldiers in a less expensive materials that people like to buy. The first items will be Alamo figures. The new figures are to be out in a few months. the figures will be painted.
If you want to see the figures go to Treefrog forum, then go to the King & Country section and look for sneak peak at the Alamo.
I’d be interested to know their prices. I’m not a big fan of their figures, some are nice but many I find the poses to be too stiff and clean looking at least the Alamo poses. I’m guessing they are just going to use their standard Alamo poses and just produce them in plastic resin, but I’ve been surprised before.
I really HATE Resin,LOL.

I am not fan either.
I don’t like resin either. I hope Ron Barzso sticks with plastic from here on out. And unfortunately, I’ve never felt I could afford an army of hand-painted figures, whether in metal, resin, or plastic. I like mass formations, which is why I long ago settled on unpainted plastic. But who knows. Maybe King & Country will release unpainted versions as well. But they’ed still be in that crappy resin.

I am not a fan of resin either. I have a few pieces in the collection, but I prefer like you soft plastic. Also there will be people unhappy that the figures are 60mm and not 54mm. I feel these figures will be for the collector looking to fill his display at cost lower than the normal cost for King & Country metal figure. Still these figures will not be cheap and most plastic collectors will pass on these new figures.
Yet MORE Alamo – didn’t anything else happen ?
Yes, we also had Custer’s Last Stand.

These Alamo figures are coming out due to King & Country doing the diorama for Briscoe Museum’s Alamo. Hopefully they will do other periods.
For American collectors the Alamo has been a popular period due to Disney Davy Crockett movies. I agree we need figures in other periods of history.
I like K&C’s Crusader range and it would be great if they could produce sets of Archers, Crossbowmen and marching infantry in plastic.
