October Plastic Showcase One Collection Time

October Plastic Showcase One Collection Time, I dip into the collection to show some of the interesting items I have picked up over the years. They range from a little girl from Dulcop to a damaged African native. So sit back and enjoy it. Also, an update on the BMC Army women figures project.

October Plastic Showcase One Collection Time Dulcop

October Plastic Showcase One Collection Time Dulcop
I have enjoyed Dulcop figures since I first saw them. While most know them for their military and historical figures, They did also various civilian figures. One of these civilian figures is a little girl holding a doll. If you notice the doll is dress like her.

African Native

October Plastic Showcase One African Native
I am sure most of you have items that you wonder where did I get this? This happens when you don’t sit down and catalog each piece that comes into your collection. An example of this for me is this above African native I found him a small plastic bag missing his left arm. I might have gotten him when I bought a shoebox full of Spanish figures 30 years ago. I think he might be from Pech Hermanos.
October Plastic Showcase One Collection Time Blue Box
I believe these figures are based on a Blue Box figure. These figures are copies of the Blue Box figure. You can see that the figure on the right is a pantographed figure as it is slightly smaller than the figure is on the left.

Other Figures

britains swoppet
There are conversions where someone makes a physical change and then arr conversion where you switch body parts. Here we have a Britians swoppet cowboy. the legs are from the first series a two gun cowboy, the body from the second series sheriff, and the head is from the second series cowboy behind the barrel. It makes the figure a possible hard one to sell unless the buyer likes variations.

BMC Woman Soldier Update

Figures list
Rahway has clued me into the latest update of the BMC army women. Jeff has given the latest update of this fine project. \
Here’s a quick update on the Rosie the Riveter Figure production. The factory in Scranton is currently molding the Rosie figures in the Kickstarter backer-exclusive copper color. I also approved the last couple of custom color samples needed for some of the assorted color set. Here’s a sneak peek at the new insert card art
The Plastic Army Women molds are on their way from the toolmaker to the factory, and I’m working on the package art as well. The Backerkit order contents are now locked, but if you need to miss the deadline of need to change anything or please send me a message at shop@bmctoys.com.
Stay well, and tanks’ for your support,

The african warrior with missing arm should be made of old rubber ,now become harder stiff with time. They were made with out base but only two small supports in each foot
Company should be LURAVE from 1950s .Funder Luis Ramirez Vergel Lurave
    best

And where oh where are the 60 lb.combat packs on these tender lassies?

    • Waynew says:

Interesting point, in fairness though, if we were expecting contact, packs were the first thing shed – either before or as soon as safely possible after contact. The last thing one needs when the kimshi hits the fan is a huge ruck weighing you down, or worse sticking out and exposing your position.

A good pose I’ve never seen is a prone shooter using his pack as cover.

  3. Mark T. says:

I like that mix of parts on the Swoppet. My first thought was that he reminded me of Tuco from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Maybe he killed some poor sheriff and stole his star.

  4. ERWIN SELL says:

The BB hunter i have has a dog attached in front base ,i need check mine and see if these are alike it.I manage get a lot then and sold off plenty,i use few more as boers.
    best

  5. The Hunter with dog attached was made in 1/72 for matchbox. The larger of your two hunters was made for MPC in HK and sold in a Platform display window box.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

The hunter i refer to with dog is listed in your site as unknown.it is 50 mm and was sold by BB as says in the base so.There is a Hong Kong generic 45 mm later verssion as well.
      best.

      • The larger hunter on the left in Stad’s picture was made in Hong Kong and sold by MPC. I found a small window box MPC Jungle set on Ebay with the hunter and a few animals. I need to edit him off my ALL OTHER VINTAGE FIGURES page. Hong Kong stuff is confusing as many US companies would use stuff made by Hong Kong companies. I got a bag with about 20 of these hunters years ago from what I assume in a warehouse cleanout.

  6. Henry P. says:

Not big on the women soldiers, I wish instead, we got rebooted tim mee poses, we never received a standing shooting guy, and many other poses, allegedly the sculptor is still alive, I hope he sees this and considers adding to the 12 poses we have, it would be nice to see new, from the old school Vietnam era 60’s army men we all like…..I want a continuation, i used to buy their soldier buckets all the time……

  7. james nixon says:

Does anybody know what Chintoys will be making next. As we have got everything they have made so far. We are looking forward to the next figures they make.
