Early Germans Cavalry Command Scott

Greetings from Singapore!
Very pleased to inform you of the release of two new sets in the “60mm Wars of the Roman Empire – Early Germans” range.
60 GMS 02 Germanic Cavalry
60 GMS 03 Tribal Command (Early Germans
All models are supplied unpainted.
The sets will be available for shipment later this week (15 June 2020) or early next week. (note this may when they will be available to dealers. The consumers’ date could be later.)

Early Germans (Germanic Symmachiarii)
The Germanic tribes fought against both the Romans and the Celts. Many of them also served with the Roman army as Barbarian Symmachiarii units; (symmachiarii = sympathizers, or allies). These are auxiliary units but are not equipped or trained in Roman methods.
The famous exploits of the Germans include the wanderings of the Cimbri, the defeat of the Romans at Teutoburger Wald by Arminius of the Cherusci; the invasion of Britain and the Civilis Rebellion of the Batavi.
German cavalry was commented to have been better horsemen than the Celts and thus many were recruited as auxiliary of the Roman commanders. German native horses however were said to be rather small and thus many were re-mounted with Roman cavalry horses. The Germans also disliked saddles and consider them effeminate.
Details of the Set

Germanic cavalrymen are comprised of the tribal aristocracy and their armed retainers. However, even so, only the very wealthy can afford to have body armor, usually traded from the Celts or Romans. We have chosen to provide the chief with a Celtic chainmail corselet common among Roman auxiliaries.
The most famous of the Germanic cavalry was the Batavi, who served with the Romans in the conquest of Britain.

The main weapon of the Germanic cavalry is the javelin known as the framea. It is used both for stabbing and for throwing.
Their main protective armament is a shield of wood covered with leather. The characteristic shape of the shield is the hexagon, although rectangular and round shields are not uncommon.
Note the Suebian-knot hairstyle that is unique to the Germans and serves as a clear distinction from the Celts. It is also a common Germanic fashion to strap the lower legs of their trousers.
Early German Command Set

With the release of these sets, the Germanic series of box-sets is complete. We have plans to expand the Roman range in due course with a series on the Roman Eastern Legions (in chainmail armor), Syrian archers, Sarmatian cataphracts, Numidian light horse, and civil war gladiators.
Early Germans Cavalry Command Expeditionary Force Next Release

The next set in the production queue is the British 95th Rifles (54 BRT 11) to be released in July 2020.
These riflemen use a special short barrel rifle rather than the long smooth-bore musket of the infantry. They are trained marksmen and their specialty is to pick-out officers and NCOs from a long-range (200 yards) rather than to engage in massed musketry or in a bayonet charge. Accordingly, we design our set of models in a skirmishing scenario without marching or charging poses more suited to the line infantrymen.
The current plan is to release the medieval armed peasants after the riflemen in August 2020 before starting the WW2 Japanese sets in September.
Looking forward to your kind support.
Stay safe.
Cheers,
Scott
NB: The pandemic is still swirling around and there are many restrictions on international travel and logistics. We seek your kind understanding and patience during this period. I am hopeful that a vaccine or treatment is just around the corner and we can then get back to some semblance of free movement in the near future.
The mounted set can be add a multi other people sues such Celts,Iberian,Thracian, ,others .
The foot and command set are more Germanic style and too early dress as to be use as late Gothic warriors. .
In my opinion-The nap sharpshooter set with EB set can be nice set add combination along AIP in scale range ,however uniform ,gear and weapons used made then very small unit specif only and not for any other campaign .But i understand the popularity .Overall another large great production by new King of plastic toy soldiers producer .
I can see another price increase coming soon per set base in corona virus “affecting ” production sales.
My thoughts
best
These look fantastic! Expeditionary Force certainly leads the field. Well done! Can’t wait for the War in the Pacific series and the mid eighteenth century French and Indian War / Jacobite Rising era figures. Keep that sculptor of yours busy Scott!
