Collection Time Marx Meeting Update, to finish the month of April we go into the collection for some interesting items. Then we have a different comment on the Marx Meet.
Collection Time Marx Meeting Update Figure Time
Marx Meet May Not be Cancelled
Yesterday, I posted a comment from Rick Eber on the Marx Meet in West Virginia. today on Facebook Scott Stewart posts this: “Convention Update. I spoke/emailed James at the Kruger museum last night. He informed me that the decision on canceling/postponing the Marx show is still under consideration. It’s really coming down to the order by the WV Governor not to have gatherings of more than 25. These restrictions, according to their press, will be in place at least for 3-6 weeks. That puts us into June… So it is still uncertain. Too many unknowns right now to make a guess. Personally, I’m keeping my reservations open until the last minute.”
We will keep a watch and informed you if we get any updates. You could also check their site.
Dear Paul,
thanks for posting photos of interesting figures again.
Contributing something to the identification of the hp Indian with Huron like hairdress and rifle is a bit difficult, but fun as it always is:
The Indian was made in France and came in small individual boxes saying “Colorado”. We are not sure if this is a makers name or just a series name. But, however, collectors use the name “Colorado” to indicate the figure range. As far as I can see from examples in my collection Colorado did Indians (6 foot and 2 mounted), cowboys (6 foot and 2 mounted) and knights (6 foot and 3 mojnted). But this list may not be complete. There are also unpainted sp versions of the Huron Indians around. Stories have it that the figures were painted (and made?) in a jail in northern France by prisoners. But as I had not been to jail in France sofar I can not verify this assumption.
Stay healthy
Andreas
Hello Andreas
I always like interesting figures. It is because I did stories with my figures as a child. This carried on when I got older. thank you for the information.
The cowboy with the lasso is one of the larger HILCO range of figures. They did cowboys, Indians, knights, combat troops, Guardsmen and Horseguards all in 60mm
Thanks, Peter, Paul Morehead had contacted me earlier today on the cowboy was 60mm. As I said to Paul I have only seen the 54mm figures here in the states. Interest on the lines they did in 60mm.
