BMC Kickstarter Update

The cannon is a copy of a die-cast metal one from Crescent of England. I got one in brown as a kid in the 70s with some Airfix Japanese clones. You can still get this cannon today in plastic, but the wheels are different.
WW1 British 18 pounder.
All very correct Mark.
The first copies was made by BLUE BOX
It was done in hard plastic dark olive color and firing shells in plastic.
Then by 70s Ry toys or RADO did the more common copy in soft plastic.
The copies were done with correct wheel.
The above is the 1990s Chinese copy w odd wheel and usually a bot bigger than HK early copies
The HK soft plastic copies are very common still if Ebay lots.

With a little imagination, that cannon can go a long way. It can be used as just about any 1890’s – 1920’s field piece. For WWII, I use it for Japanese and Italian artillery, or a British 25 Pdr. . I’ve found copies in 3 sizes, cast in olive, forest green and mustard tan. Painting them is not tough, either. After trimming the flash off of them, they look quite good.
I am bidding on a collection of figures at the moment on ebay. There are three blue metallic figures among the other figures that look like the Clairet sailor. I thought they looked like Russian naval troops. Then I thought maybe coma made them as they seem to have the same bases. Does anyone know what they are at all.
Send me the James..
I.may be able help..

as has been pointed out, the cannon is a copy of the Crescent British WW1 quick firing cannon. i received a grey one with a set of Blue Box civil war Crescent clones. for some reason i always used it with my Marx Japanese troops.
Crescent made some great cannons for use with 54mm troops. their British 25 pounder is far superior to the Britains version, and for heavier artillery they made a 5.5″ gun. their 155mm Long Tom, however, seems too small.

I have my Silver color cannon copy too with the ACW BB set (no cloned from Crescent as they are different from Crescent ,some may resemble Crescent poses in idea ,not doubt but not cloned .The buglers by pose resemble more that of Herald or LIDO pose.
I post then here regarding the difference.

Crescent here

BB also copied along the cannon the barricades from Crescent too
I agree Crescent pieces are better than Britain in most ..
Unfortunately i do not like mix metal with plastic in my collection .
BB also copy the LS metal trebuchet, catapult, ram medieval siege machines in plastic very well done .
