Dollar Store Mounted Indians, I talk about a recent find at a dollar store. Erwin Sell give an article on Odd Blue Box Set
Dollar Store Mounted Indians Figures

Blue Box Odd Name Set

It is usual to see rare names or change the name in HK copies of other figures such as Romans or Gladiators for the Herald Troyans copies sold by HK copiers.
Blue Box a unique HK toy company as it did many sets of original design and not copies but also did copies of course as most did in the toy business. Blue Box used animals been copied from Britain and Timpo generally.
Now going digging in my collection I have this odd set with animals that what made it curious is the name used and human figures in it used to mix all in one.
The set while called or named (African Zoo ) brings the original beautiful Tarzan BB designed and hunter explorer poses.

Note Blue box did not call it Tarzan for copyright reasons.

Neither of course all from Africa.
A simple African-Safari or hunting jungle name will be more appropriate I will think.
Blue Box did quite many zoo sets, so far most using copies of human Britain and Timpo figures poses while fences were base in Dulcop and actual building was in some original design. Never though see BB set name Zoo with a hunter and Tarzan inside.
I’m always curious as to what happens sometimes with makers and name choices.
Tarzan playset and set by Blue box have several original made figures, included this Tarzan, hunters and native as well a second later version with Jane and Tarzan in standing position.
The Indians look great what size are they.
They are 60mm.
I like those dollar store Indians. They are much better than the scrawny, misshapen Airfix clones we see so often. These kind of remind me of Spanish brands like Jecsan and Comansi.
The lean-to thing is, I think, a Plains Indian burial scaffold. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2b/69/b1/2b69b17a6e0b14f5708edbad1f679da5.png
No wonder Pioneer women were afraid of Indians,LOL.
LOL! I think they need longer breechclouts!
The are a mix hybrid poses mixing Supreme 1990s poses with airfix in bigger scale ,this set has the woman warrior and super muscle braves on foot so often post here all over ,the burial piece is unique and best made so far in plastic this scale ,made by chinese. So once again Chinese maker sometimes come with things not done before or hardly done .
other burial plastic i see is from Spain maker .The two mounted poses are better than foot i tink.
The cowboy set of same series are a bit better i think .Poses once again mix supreme with airfix in the 60 mm scale range too .
Is true looks alike some of Comansi 3er generation set series poses .
best
It makes me wonder, if a no-name Chinese company can do a successful full feathered war bonnet on a toy soldier, why didn’t at least one of the recent plains Indian poses from Paragon or TSSD have them?
beautiful Tazan set from Blue Box .. I love it ..
