Peter Evans Marx Six-Inch Viking

Marx Viking
Peter Evans shared this Marx six-inch Viking that he painted. His level of painting is equal to the grandmasters on the lead side of the hobby.

Museum of Plastic Lost at Sea

Peter Evans also sent me a link to an interesting article. Tracey Williams has been searching the beaches for plastic pieces including toys and legos. What started as a hobby and grown into something more. Take a look at the article right here.

Collection Time

Greek Indian Mounted
This is one of two figures from my collection that was made in Greece. I believe the figure was on a figure card that got damage. It also had copies of Marx54mm cowboys.
Greek Indian swoppet
The other Greek figure is an Indian swoppet. It has always amazed me how Britains was one of the first to do swoppet figures and then they abandoned them.

Thanks for posting the article on plastic lost at sea. Very interesting read.

  2. ERWIN F SELL says:

    On Mars
    Is that Rambo VC version?
The maxim pm 19 and SG-43 Goryunov are part of set?
They look way too small x figures, wheels way too tinny ,especially been asian people .

  3. oif-retread says:

why the hole on the mounted Indian’s arm? it doesn’t look like a swivel arm, and it seems much too deep for a mold ejection mark. was there some sort of plug-in accessory there?

Another great looking set from Mars! They have made a number of innovative sets recently. This past December I was in London and went to the toy soldier show where I was looking for the Mars Winter Germans 1/32. A dealer remarked to me that he didn’t stock them because they are really dollar store plastic soldiers. I completely disagree.

To Jeremy I buy mine from http://www.modelhobbies.co.uk here in the UK they do 10% off retail price on their products and if you spend £60.00 or more it is free delivery. They are brilliant figures I have bought all the sets so far. I take no notice of what other people say.

  5. Charles Baldwin says:

In my opinion, the Mars sets seem to vary in scale and utility. I do appreciate the number of sets they have been releasing as of late. I especially enjoy their Vietnam line and have several sets in my ranks. I like this heavy weapons set and I think it will be a good addition to the NVA and Viet Cong sets Mars has already produced. I’d still like to see a Mars ARVN rangers set and a U.S. air cavalry set to complement what they already have.
I’m also very pleased with the diversity of WWII sets that Mars has and will produce in the future. They have made many sets never seen before in 1/32 scale plastic. I’ve always found it strange that they have such an impressive 1/72 scale 30 Year’s War line, but no 1/32 scale 30 Year’s War figures. Love to see that. Also, Mars should make more early era Napoleonic infantry to go with their Russian Grenadier and Old Guard sets. I love Waterloo, but it would be nice to have troops for Austerlitz and Jena too! Maybe some day.

  6. Mark McNamara says:

Nice job ,Peter, like the skin tone especially !

  7. BRIAN says:

Is the VC female waiting in line for the Latrine??

    • Tom Black says:

I noticed that too but it’s kind of an optical illusion. It is the black ammo Cartridge of the AK that makes it look like her legs are crossed.
