March Plastic Figure Showcase French Foreign Legion

March Plastic Figure Showcase French Foreign Legion

March Plastic Figure Showcase Timpo
Your first impression that we have a Timpo 56mm solid French Foreign Legion. It is not the figure that was done by DSG of Argentina. They are from old molds that have six different poses. The set has four molds which are based on the Timpo figures and two new poses. You see all the poses here.
Crescent Foreign Legion
The above figure was purchased at the Plastic Warrior Show from a dealer named Peter Harris. it is Crescent 60mm mounted French foreign Legion unpainted. Harris had a load of the figures back 20 years ago. The figures could have been leftover stock. I never heard anything about them.

Links From Boing Boing

Boing Boing is a web site that has various articles on futurism, science fiction, etc. The web site had two interesting articles recently. The first one was about the Gashapon series. Gashaponsets are capsule sets that are sold in vending machines throughout Japan. The series can be animals, anime, etc. We show you last year two figure series WWII Germans and Samurai. The new set is called Drunk Now a series of five people in states of drunkenness. some of the poses are hugging a telephone, wearing a pylon, and a person needs a wastebasket. The figures are two inches high

The other article is about a series of fantasy figures called Hands of Glory. the figures have a unique feature the wrists are fitted with magnets. This allows you to switch accessories. Check them out.

Collection Time

mercenaries
Going through the collection I found these hard plastic figures.
three mercenaries
I forgot who made them. We will see if one of the readers does.
British Bobbie
Here is another mysterious figure. We know it is a British Bobbie, but we do not know who made it. I wonder if was by one of the smaller British companies.

The two additional FFL poses on the RS site seem to be conversions of two of the Timpo GIs, #9002 and 9013.
