February Plastic Figure Roundup, we start off with a new color for Timmee pioneers that Kent Sprecher came aware of. Next Markus Lecksheid shares two photos that I think you will enjoy. Third, Detlef Heerbrand sent us a photo of two Roche Davy Crockett Figures he painted.

I remember as a young child visiting my aunt and uncle in Illinois. They had a son who is at least ten years older than I who had a Lincoln Logs set I would play with. There were pioneers and a few spacemen in the container. I remember them all being in hard plastic – but that might just have been the spacemen. I’ve seen the spacemen around in reproductions since going online. I never gave it much thought but looking at these Timmee pioneers I’m thinking they were Timmee Pioneers. I do remember they were in a similar color to those in the picture.
Of course, this leads to another question in my mind – I know some sets of Lincoln Logs had figures; were they ever Timmee or were they another company? If they were Timmee, it might explain the origin of these figures.
There is a problem with TM toys in 60/70s .
in specific about these- Soldiers ,Cowboys ,frontiersmen ,pirates and knights
In Europe COMANSI using importer company SHAMBER borough or rent TM molds of truck, tank, cannon ,armored car and figures sets above mentioned.
Under Shambers were clone exact to even mold entrance/exit spot ,then made a friction variation of jeep, tank and truck .All sold as NOVELINAS-COMANSI series window case along the Comansi (Different 12 armies sets of world of 6 poses each as Indian army set post by admin here before )
Shamber independently did sold the Viet nam Gi s in odd colors as well rest above mentioned TM sets .I have several then and can be found in todocollection site very easy often in bags mark as SHAMBERS .None has a mark or logo but they are clone exact to US made figures that suggest they used a duplicated mold .
I say this to mention possibilities these may be those above .not sure ,just as suggestion…
The only difference i notice is Spain made-sold clones are a bit softer than TM us made in material .Rest clone 100%
Then we have italian maker(BARABELLI) that copied-cloned , the western poses sets as far i seen ,no mark not log again and in many colors .
And also we have few minor brand copiers from Spain and Italy but these have poor detail only and easy o notice as copies.
my thought
That Jeep is perfect! I’d love to get my hands on some. Markus lives in Germany, right? Is it only available in stores there?
Nice lot/finds Markus …
I s the wooden school DDR brand? It does not look to me ,but of course you know better…
I did got a nice very well done simple Jeep in dollar pack with armies guys in early 2000 here i think ,it com in beige and OD colors along a german nice very realistic AA gun 20 mm ( better than BMC ) and copies of BB soldiers .
I post it many years ago in PW magazine .
I will send photos to admin
Never seen x years again
The jeep found by Markus has a section front glass framed window panel!!??
Never see a jeep like that ..
Yes, wooden School is VERO East German manufacture.
Fun thing is Detlef used same building as background for his Roche figures.
As usual great paint job. He’s for sure a very gifted painter.
Regarding Jeep Erwin has sharp eyes. It has a clear plastic window panel.
Was surprised to find such a well made metal and plastic in a cheapo store.
For 5 Euros (less than 6 bucks at the moment) an almost high priced item for those stores.
Can’t relocate the box at the moment put I’m sure I kept it somewhere.
Think it indicated an importer located at the Netherlands so I will of course take a look at the cheapo stores there for this item. As there still seems to be an unspoken ban on ‘war toys’ in German shops its always kind of a surprise to me that shops in the Netherlands and Belgium are far more liberal regarding this point.
As Dutch border is less than one hour and Belgian only 1 and half hour away I put the Jeep high on my list on things to look for at the next trips over
Lincoln Logs used Auburn Pioneers and animals beginning in 1958, first in vinyl and then in soft plastic. Hard plastic Beton western figures had been used in a LL set during WWII because metal for the usual zinc alloy figures had not been available.
I think the banjo player represents Colonel Plunk from the Davy Crockett river boat episodes. The premium set also includes a Mike Fink figure. I believe the small knight horse to be from the Tim-Mee German factory where they made the knights in several sizes.
