Armies in Plastic Brits are WWI soldiers
About AIP set colors
I think what admin want to know what set the tan-cream color was made x in the ww1 British set .
I recall in 1990 buying direct from Tony at his shop in West Point and not seen this color as early made ,so I think these are later made production x middle east Palestine conflict also sold as Sinai-Palestine conflict front where he mix some of British colonial and WW1 infantry in one set as well configuration bags -no box much later .First were made x the theater in Europe western and Italian front in medium brown and OD light green .

Dan, as Erwin said in his post what I am looking for, is where this color was used for the British WWi sorry for the confusion.
The 2008 AIP catalog has a listing for set 5408/C, Canadian Expeditionary Force, in Cream. The CEF Highlanders in Cream were set 5409/C. The catalog labels both sets as Sold Out.
Thanks for the information, now I understand why that color was so unfamiliar.
What I always found interesting about Armies in Plastic figures ( always nice sculpts) is that they would have same figures in multiple colors and label them as different theaters of war or units and way back when when playing with toys I and friends would have figures in one color and we would decide what unit/country they were from. Imagination was great !
Tony(AIP owner) views is far practical as his figures in most sets were design generic with simple detail with exception of few sets.
It did offer collectors an array armies never before made .He extend the variation with colors as others makers in past had done or may had intend to do .
Company such Marx did plenty shades colors in their WW2 sets to represent Africa,Europe and Pacific theater; but most case for same own country army only such American army/marines in OD,Dark OD,green and cream and Germans in grey and white .
AIP did to represent many nation but some times the colors can not give so much difference of eras and armies and way too far push limits .But in general overall it had worked in most simple view of collectors.
put few drops tint in plastic chemical during production is more than enough to produce thousand in many colors and often it is offed free by maker from China .
Tony had that offer and took advantage.
He had mange overproduce more SETS than most maker since revival of hobby till he stop in 2013 making new sets unfortunately .He was and is still the top maker in US on plastic toy soldiers after Marx in amount set plastic soldiers made per year and total in 1/32 range .
Only surpass by EXF from Singapore now as new top maker of plastic armies sets per year in the 1/32-1/30 range
my thoughts.
