I Am a Collector, despite what one sad man thinks. (He even wrote a silly song with a lyric saying I am not.) Besides that, I am a writer ( I have epublished one book with two more to be formatted), an untrained ventriloquist, and dealer among other jobs. Most dealers like myself started the same way. I enjoy being a dealer as I can find items for people and myself.
I Am a Collector Finds
One of my enjoyment is finding items I know people are looking for. Here is the mother from the Susy Goose Supermarket. I found out that Kent Sprecher did not a photo of this figure on his site, so I sent him a picture. That is what collectors do.
One thing I like to do is if I can repurpose a figure. In a junk box, I found this remains of Britain’s German mortar Team. Looking at the figure, I knew I could put him on a spare deetail base giving a new pose. I had seen this done in the UK.
Finds
On finds, I am very fussy on what I get for myself. After getting my number one want twenty years ago (Speedwell armored car on fire) I look for interesting items. The first figure on the left is a Wilton Golfer. Wilton did various figures for cake decoration. Usually, the figures were copies of other companies’ figures. This may be original, I may have him with a rake. The other figure is the Starlux sailor. He can be used in a modern-day setting possible in a western setting. The figure on the left I found in a junk box. As to the other figure he is by Ertl and I have shown him before. He was part of the Ertl Farm series. We will look at more interesting items in part two.
Thanks for the picture I have added in to the Susy Goose group picture. When I was new in the hobby there was a lot of secrecy about. I made my website to help collectors identify figures and anyone can copy any of the pictures. I enjoy researching the US companies and hope to be sending an article to Rusty at PLAYSET MAGAZINE on Ray Plastic (Rayline) soon.
I have enjoyed researching I do not have the time to do it. Your site has been helping collectors. I just used it for a German collector who got the Thomas Toys Indians in a canoe in soft plastic.
hey Paul, by taking the mortar and recoilless rifle teams and mounting them on individual bases, you can get great cannon crew poses for the PAK and 6 pounder AT guns and the pack howitzer. the best part is you don’t even have to modify the figures themselves.
I have the Wilton figure without the club, but he has a hole in his hand for its placement. Thanks for identifying him…I didn’t know who made it.
Marv
I am glad that I could help identify your figure.
The sitting farmer with a pipe was made by Bullyland (Germany). He came with a seat (as in your photo) or without a seat as a driver for a hay wagon.
Use the Sailor as the Captain of “The Far West” riverboat during Little Big Horn Campaign.

I agree with you. As I said before I caught from the PW show where I would find the figures on separate bases
