If you are going to criticize make sure you have your information correct. When I do my reviews of Toy Hunter, I make sure that I have my information correct as possible and I will do more research if I can. For the latest review of the Toy Hunter Episode Wondercon, I looked at Wondercon’s web site and came up with an interesting piece of information, which I will pass along very soon.
I was criticized in another blog for complaining about P&P Products copying my western woman firing a pistol. I was taken to task for complaining for protecting my property including my photos. I had taken to task a dealer for using one of my photos. The person then took me to task that I had Replicants copied the Reamsa western woman firing the pistol.
Now for the correct story, yes, I was upset that P&P Products did an exact copy of my western woman. The only difference from my figure and their figure is P&P Products put their figure behind a barrel. Yes I know P&P Products did copies of other figures, but they were from companies not active anymore. Larry could have check first, as it was he lost my support and I dropped reporting anything on the company except when it closed.
Now as to my figure being a copy of the Reamsa, the answer is no. The Reamsa figure is squatting or sitting , while my figure is kneeling. Also the hair styles and dress of the figures are different. (I will do a photo of my Reamsa figure with my figure in the near future.) My figure is not a copy, it could have been inspired by the Reamsa figure. I will have to check with Peter Cole, sculptor and owner of Replicants to see if I told Peter to use the Reamsa figure as reference or not.
So the criticism in regards to my western woman is not valid. I am very protective of my rights. In regards to the picture that the dealer used, if he had just asked, I would have given him permission. When he did not, he lost that privilege. I saw the dealer at Plastic Warrior Show and we had a pleasant conversation and I almost bought some figures off of him, but I had to pass as I spend my budget limit.
The interesting thing on this whole situation about P&P Products copying my figure is that it is at least 5 more likely 10 years old. I was surprise when I saw this other blog’s posting. I feel it was more an attack than a criticism base on other comments the blogger has made on me. I will deal with those comments in the future.
