Fun Plastic Figure Showcase Disney Infinity figures
I get over to an indoor flea market every once and a while that has a dealer that deals in various fast food items and related items. My latest visit got the four above figures. The two on the left are from the Disney Infinity game system. One of the far left is Tonto from the 2013 Lone Ranger movie. The movie was a disaster on so many levels but I have look for figures on a smaller scale. I have some Lone Ranger figures which were done in blind boxes The Jack sparrow I got for a friend. The figure to Jack’s right is Gimli from Lord of the Rings. In the movies, he was played by John Rhys-Davies. Gimli was a dwarf, but the Burger King has him three inches high so I will use him as a regular warrior in my fantasy army. The final figure I do not know where he is from but I like him.

More Figures

Timmee Pioneer
Timmee Pioneer kneeling with a spoon and plate. He is one of six figures that came with a covered wagon. the yellow color was used here and in Mexico.
Conte conversion
This one of the conversions done by Gary Dutko. He did a number of conversions of Conte Collectibles figures. He told me he liked the material that they were made of. I have not talked with Gary in a long while, but as far as I know, he stopped doing conversions due to an accident.
Foreign Legion
This is a hard plastic French foreign Legion figure I picked up in Europe. I have no idea who made it. This is the problem when you get figures without packaging.

The Foreign Legion figure is first series Starlux (early 1950’s). There was a whole bunch of figures with that strange burnt orange uniform: standing firing, marching, machine gunner, flag bearer, officer firing pistol, etc.

Gimli LOR figure is indeed the BK distributed and belong to full series collection of movie series that combined form a large ring where each figure is position in a base with sensor battery operated base .One you spin the ring in center and point each figure ,each figure will say-speak a fraser ,I have two and sold one recently. The set had become collectible ,the problem is the battery compartment is very sealed and you can not replace the flat battery easy becoming often rust and damage the mechanism .
BK overstock were later sold online by few dealers .

The FFL are very early first made under Starlux from 1948 to 1954 .Apparently there were made in several shade of colors and over 12 poses so far with two different kneeling poses and other action plus marching poses .The bases often are thicker in some production .One of Alain books made reference of them .

What a beautiful figure (with an awesome theme) by Gary Dutko! Can you show us any more of his work.

  5. Mark Weitz says:

The early Starlux FFL were also made in a kind of olive green. I’m not aware of any other colors.
