Expeditionary Force French Cuirassiers Carabiniers

Expeditionary Force French Cuirassiers, we have the latest information from Expeditionary Force on their latest addition to their Napoleonic Line. This time it is mounted French Cuirassiers and Carabiniers. Here is what Scott has to say.

Expeditionary Force French Cuirassiers Photos

Dear All,
Greetings from Singapore!
Very pleased to inform you of the release of two new sets in the “54mm Napoleonic Wars – French Army 1812-1815” range.
54 FRN 09           Cuirassiers

54 FRN 09-C      Carabiniers
All models are supplied unpainted. The sets should be available for shipment next week, latest by Friday, 25 October 2019.
French Napoleonic
The set contains 5 model soldiers and 5 horse models comprising of 1 officer and 4 troopers. The heads and arms are an interchangeable giving permutation of at least 20 different assembled postures.  I hope that you and your customers will find something of interest in these models. These are all newly sculpted figures.
French cavalry
Cuirassiers are issued with carbines in 1812 and thus wear the cartridge shoulder belt. However, cuirassiers are primarily as shock troops and are used for massed charges. In such a role, their carbines are usually left behind with the baggage, such as at Waterloo. Their main weapon is thus the sword (and in the melee, the pistol).

Carabiniers

Mounted withswords
The model troopers can be assembled into two tactical scenarios: attacking or advancing. The model on the left-most is similar to that of the 54mm Airfix multi-pose model of childhood memories.
Napoleonic Officer
The Cuirassier officer does not have the shoulder belt and wears a long-tailed coat instead of the habit-Veste (jacket with short coat tail) of the troopers.
There is a glued-on plume on his helmet.
His shabraque (saddle cloth) does not have the valise-bag at the back of the saddle.
Set of Figures

We managed to squeeze in a spare right arm for a standard-bearer. Note that the eagle and flag-pole in the photo above are taken from a different set: 54 FRN 07 Command. These two items are not supplied in FRN 09. They are assembled for display only.
Officer
These are part of Napoleon’s Imperial Guard. They are issued the same equipment as the Line Cuirassiers except that their helmets are in copper and the cuirass are in brass-plated steel. Their helmet crest is the caterpillar comb instead of the horsehair mane of the cuirassier. In other aspects including tactical roles, they are the same as the cuirassiers.
Flagbearer
Last but not least, we assembled a standard-bearer and an officer for the carabiniers. We had previously sculpted a bare-head in a bandage but has not been able to find mold space to put it in. With this set, we finally find the space for it to be produced and thus will be added as a bonus in both the FRN 09 sets.

Next Release

The next set in the production queue is the Celtic Armed Civilians (60 CTB 05) to be released on November 2019. The set will come with the armed women, children, old men and freed slaves plus a wounded warrior making a desperate last stand for the doomed tribe.

Looking forward to your kind support.

Cheers,

Scott

Can’t wait to get these. I had a nice email exchange with Scott of Expeditionary Force and he gave me a heads up on some more Napoleonics to come down the line.

“Polish Lancers & British Light Dragoons have been sculpted pending release in the production queue (probably, early 2020).

Napoleon’s Old Guards has been planned but will be released at a later stage as part of an extension into the “Past” (1803 – 1812) as their open lapel long-tailed coats are also suitable for the earlier period. There will be head options for Tricorn and Shako as well as the Bearskin. We will do horse, foot, and gun sets as always.

The Prussians are still under consideration. “
