Laurie Has Decided Retired Retirement time

Laurie Has Decided Retired, after 35 years in the travel business Laurie is retiring today October 1. It is something she decided to do with all the changes in the travel business.

Laurie Has Decided Retired Details

Laurie Has Decided Retired Drinking — Laurie in 2018 celebrating our trip to the UK. Laurie is drinking her favorite cider Orchard Pig. She has seen many changes in the travel industry. When she started you did not have the internet. You depended on your travel agent’s expertise. Laurie is an expert on cruises and the Caribean. After she got married to me, she became an expert on London thorough Peter Evans and myself.

Laurie Has Decided Retired Kennianne — Laurie with one of our friends Kennanne one of the many people we have met at various restaurants we have eaten at. At our favorite restaurant Biaggio, we have become like family with the staff. One of them has called his grandparents (talk about feeling old. LOL)

Toy show — Laurie has enjoyed the toy shows she has gone to with me. Here we are at last year’s East Coast Toy Soldier Show with Mike Pendergast.

gift Basket — This is the gift basket her coworkers got for her retirement. There are even three tennis balls for the boys.

Final Thoughts

Earlier, I mention that Laurie started working as a travel agent before the internet. The internet has changed the travel business. More people are using the internet than a travel agent. Laurie’s clients many who became friends were happy for her expertise. She could help them on their trips. One of her last projects a customer and her husband missed their cruise due to a flight delay. Laurie booked them a hotel in the next port of call and they had a wonderful time. There were other people who missed the cruise and they ended up and scourge for a high priced hotel because they did not use a travel agent.

For now, Laurie will relax glad that she does not have to get up earlier. We do some short trips in the future.

Happy retirement. Since my wife and I retired we are busier than ever, but it’s mostly stuff we want to do so it’s all good.
