Jeff Imel’s Army Women Details

Jeff Imel's Army Women sign
This was a sign in Jeff’s room announcing the female soldiers will be out in Fall of 2020.
Jeff Imel's Army Women Back of header card.
The back of the header card show s three of four figures. The poses shown are kneeling firing bazooka, standing firing rifle, and kneeling firing rifle. Missing is the officer pose.

Here is the concept drawing for the female drawing rifle. The figures will have M16’s like Processed Plastic army figures.
Female standing firing rifle
This is the concept art of the female soldier standing firing rifle. Each of the figures has hair sticking of their helmet.
Female army officer
The concept sketch of the female officer with a pistol and binoculars. The pose was inspired by the Processed Plastic army officer with a pistol and binoculars. We will show the prototype of the figure shortly, that Jeff had done for television and to show the young lady.

Light Green figure
Correction The photo of the cast of the prototype that appears to be a lighter color is actually the same figure, just a different angle so the light makes it appear lighter. These figures have gotten a lot of news on television and in print matter. We also post on these figures back in August, which had the first report from CBS.

Requests

Rich Fisher has a request. Hi Guys- I’m still looking for 6 Union Tim-Mee Marching Civil War soldiers. Thanks- Rich

civil war
Greg Liska had a question. I’ve not gotten a solid answer on the ACW guys I want ID’d. I’m sure they ARE Americana, but can somebody tell me how many and what poses? Show me a bag of them or some full sets? They have that early 1900’s metals figure look to them. I sort of like it.

Check Kent’s site for Tim-Mee ACWs. He has some; not sure exactly which ones you want.

    Greg.
These are not Americana or former BMC mold sets ,these are remade copies varied sold are Raid Aid and other drug stores in 2000s. The set i had was 16 poses i sold off long ago all doubles ,kept one each .They sold then in bags with one cannon bombard copy of Hing fat and one cannon variation of BMC hybrid .I do not have any bad card head left .sorry .
If there more poses i do not know .
Later saw few bags at Marshall store ,but not more
Americana was the one brand took over after BMC mold .they also sold non BMC sets Chinese copies but i do not think they sold off these.
BMC mold sets are Gettysburg set,Irish brigade set, Civil War Camp/prisoner Figures set , and Appomattox set, as far i remember

    • Greg Liska says:

Erwin – Thanks for the info. Kent told me they were Americana. They are definitely not from the BMC molds. That’s easy enough to see. I only showed about half of the poses. Each side has their own, even if they are similar poses. All the Confederates have bedrolls, Federals have backpacks. I’ve not shown all the poses I have. There is a mounted rifleman pose in blue that looked way more like a raider, so he’s grey now. One odd thing about this lot is that the color on the Federals rubs off on everything. I’ve had to paint them and top coat them to stop that. I had a few of them long ago that did not have that problem. I’m hoping someone will turn up a lot or bag of them.

Yes.Americana Souvenirs from PA is just a distributer supplier .They sold BMC as well.many chinese packs from diverse brands.
        Not a maker.
Because location near Gettisburg and dedicated to supply museum plus historical places .They carry diverse toy soldiers sets from many brands.
They sold chinese copies if Marx ACQ as well too pack brand under Jaru.

  3. Alan James Black says:

While I applaud the sense behind the series of women soldiers I do hope that the pistol??? and binoculars , shown with the , mock up ?, officer, are going to be altered to there correct scale,.
Please Jeff don’t stereotype these miniatures.
You have a unique opportunity to provide something new in our hobby.
    Kind regards
    Alan

do the girls come in pink?

  5. Carl Castoro says:

Hi Guys. Greg, I’m very interested in those Americana BMC pre-clones. Well, if Erwin is on the case, we’ll get an answer soon. I’m especially interested in the prone guys. Current BMC doesn’t have a prone figure. Maybe the additional mounted figures are decent. BMC mounted are…not so much. IMO.

    • Greg Liska says:

I admit, the BMC ACW is only so-so but with decent, likely, useful poses. The mounted guys are just sort of bland and lifeless. There’s only 3 actual mounted poses and 2 casualties that, I think, we could have done without. I’m hoping Erwin will dig out what he has and show me what poses are missing. There must be at least one more mounted pose. The 2 horses were in 2 different poses. I find it hard to believe they would go to all that trouble and have only one mounted pose.
