Cool figures. I love the long coats.
Ok .it the angle of photo or they looks a bit odd to me?.
I like pisces and clothing gear .
I agree with this. They almost look like 25mm wargame figures from these photos. The pistol being held looks gigantic.
And hand size of head with a fist .I Hope and wish is the photo ,but to me looks is not .Other previews poses look good to me .
the poses choices are common but well needed regardless.
my thoughts
It might just be the angle; they do look a bit squat- however having worn one of those old overcoats I know that unless you’re long and tall they have a tendency to make one look that way. The pistol looks a bit big on the first shot but looking at the second shot from the rear it doesn’t look so bad – perhaps there’s a foreshortening due to the angle?
The detailing looks great and the set as a whole is a welcome addition IMHO.
I have to agree with Erwin regarding the proportions of the figures.
Though we can expect some distortion through photography it is evident that some mistakes have been made. For example will the officers pistol fit in the holster and how large is the grenade on the infantryman’s chest.
Head to hand size an issue as is waist to ground/boot.
We’ve been spoilt with all the recent anatomically correct sculpts so I truly hope it’s not to late to correct these errors.
The earlier photos didn’t demonstrate to many errors so let’s hope it is in the camera.
Whatever it’s a set necessary for our hobby.
And again, for what it’s worth, it’s only an old fellas opinion.
Thanks
Alan
Most Korean War photos show the Parka/Overcoat falling to mid-thigh. These figures in the photos at least look like the parka falls to the top of the boots. Hopefully corrected or may be the photo. Also the big hand thing may be due to the winter gloves they are wearing? Looking forward to these figures though!
They are almost certainly wearing gloves. The hands are fine. It is pretty difficult to judge the figures until you see the finished product (which this is not). We need these so even if there are minor complaints about the figures, it won’t prevent us from picking several sets up. Does anybody know what colors they are to be cast in (if there is more than one color).
I meat parka falling to the calf area not mid thigh😳
In my opinion and what I personally observe. The size of hand with or with out gloves is disproportionately larger versus his head, face and even other hand.See the fingers both hands.
The pistol is a super caliber pistol.Way too large and thicker barrel .
The head and helmet too small.
The other two poses looks good or ok to me so far I can see.The three figures looks a bit chunky to me versus previews same set poses made.
Knowing CTS had improved so much since they start with nice well done sets.I Hope this could be remediated.
My thoughts.
These look like early Warhansa figures more than CTS. The man with the pistol has a HUGE arm and gun. His fist is larger than his face. The first five poses you showed looked very nice, but these are questionable. I think they really need to redo these three poses or their sales will be affected.
CTS has them available now(17 March)
Yeah and looks they never correct the last odd poses with huge weapons and chunky bodies.I pass on those ,sorry .Not my like
The only pose I have a real problem with is the officer with the big pistol – that might be fixable. For the rest – having experience being bundled up in much the same gear those guys are in (before the big transition in the late 70s and early 80s) I can tell you those old overcoats and liners could make the best proportioned guy look dwarfish. JMO. To each his own. I figure I’ll pop for at least one set to see them up close and personal. Then if they’re not too bad, I’ll get reinforcements.
Wayne W .
I see and agree in overcoat view ,my problrem goes with size of arms extended so long in two poses ,the size of hand(even with gloves) with fist made that is larger in size than head in officer with super 45 pistol .Unless he got baseball gloves in that hand .The other issues so far are not big problem and passable by me .
In the other side of coin ,the last 3 poses are not quite action and to me is fine as they are in action ;but to many they are a waste as many like all modern soldiers in more aggressive action ,especially when set has not many poses .
The set made two poses loading rifle ,in my opinion is a waste of same action in two figures ,one standing other kneeling.
They could had give the kneeling pose another weapon in firing action pose or else in my view.
But as you say to each his own .So i’m happy x those liking and buying then as well …
Is a matter choices and after seen the last well done CTS (Germans,Americans ,italian ,korean-chinese sets versus their early set i thought they could get better .Just my thoughts.
best
In regards to these guys, my brother and I picked up 6 sets. I have a feeling they are going to be very cool. Waiting for them to arrive now.
Does Jim McGuff of CTS have any plans for the Korean war Tanks? If so I hope he makes the M4A3E8 Sherman Tank
I have no idea.
Well I hope he does because that both be awesome and would completed the set.
