Jordan Hembrough and Steve Savino go to Virginia looking for toys. In the car, Jordan and Steve make a bet, whoevers finds the most expensive toy will not have to do any of the driving on the way home. The first person they go to is Tom. Jordan buys an out of the box Large Fred Flintstone on Dinosaur. This is a large battery operated toy that Marx did. Jordan pays $275.00 which he feels he can sell for $500.00. Ebay has several examples of this toy ranging in price from $150.00 to $349.00 in various states of condition. Jordan also buys a set of fun buckles and Farrah Fawcett Glamour Center. Jordan paid $50.00 and figures on selling it for $100.00 Checking Ebay, I found three offerings of the glamour center in price from $20.00 to $56.00. The quality of these three items is less than one that Jordan bought. Steve finds a Foghorn Leghorn Bobble Head doll that he pays $300.00 and figures will sell for $500.00. Checking Ebay, I could not find any examples also checking the internet only mention of the Foghorn Leghorn doll is a notation of one made in the 60’s which is the one that Steve bought.
Next Jordan and Steve go to meet Susan. Susan’s father had a toy museum in Natural Bridge, Virginia, which has closed. Susan takes Jordan and Steve to a storage unit where theycan look through some boxes. Jordan finds a Tyco Super Turbo Train, which he buys fo $85.00. Checking Ebay I found one set for $42.99. Steve finds a Blythe doll (I am not sure of that spelling). Steve pays $700.00 and plans to sell it for 1500.00. Jordan finds a Masters of the Universe Eternia set, which he pays $1000.00 which he will sell for $1800.00 . Checking Ebay I found one last week for $749.00, which may have sold.
Their final stop is with Jonathan . Jordan buys a damage Six Million Dollar Man Control Center for $75.00. Checking Ebay, there two up on Ebay one is $19.99 with a buy it now price of $150.00 and another at $129.99. Jordan also buya Buck Roger Starfighter for $100.00 to sell for $200.00. Looking at Ebay one party has the Buck Roger Starfighter at $995.00! The last item Jordan buys is a Buck Roger Land Rover for $250.00 as it ias complete which he will sell for $400.00. Checking both the internet and Ebay there are no comparable offerings as the Land rover being offered are incomplete.
Having finishing with buying from Jonathan, the winner is Jordan because of his purchase of the Enternia Set, so poor Steve has to drive all the way home to New Jersey.
There were several things that annoyed me on this episode. First thing that annoyed me was the bet. It was silly and potentially dangerous. Having someone do seven hours of driving straight through is asking for trouble. When Laurie and I drive, I usually do all the long distance driving, Laurie is ready to take over if I get too tired as happen once in Germany. I do not like when any of the reality shows do a bet to spice up the show. Second, I was annoyed when Jordan knocked Steve’s knowledge of dolls. The doll collectible field is very big. Steve has acquired knowledge in this area and spotted an item that Jordan would have passed up on. Third, the storage unit was staged, you could tell it from the way the boxes were set up. Fourth that Jordan won the bet. Since tapping the show Jordan has done an interview where he has had shown the Blythe doll and qouted a $2000.00. It would have better to have Jordan lose, it would be better for his rep.
Next episode is Chicago where Jordan Hembrough and Mark Huckabone go toy hunting. I can’t wait to see how Jordan represents Mark. Watch for high prices on the LJN Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom figures.
Gee, maybe they’ll stop by my house. Nahhhhhhh.
Paul: Did you see today’s Katie Couric’s show? Jordan was on it. I asked my wife if in her 40 years of being in the antique business has she ever seen Jordan at any Bergen County, NJ garage sales, estate sales, flea markets, antique and collectible shows. She said, “No.” Bill

Bill
I missed Jordan’s appearance on the Katie couric show, I have watch other interviews. One of the most insight full is this one on collider.com
http://collider.com/jordan-hembrough-toy-hunter-season-2-interview/
The interview is 22 minutes long and Jordan tells that he got a call from a friend about Sharp Entertainment looking for someone to host Toy Hunter. Jordan went to the Sharp and did an interview. His interview went well and he signed a contract.
Bill as to your wife not seeing Jordan flea markets, etc. he does not do flea markets. He admited in the beginning of the Gene Simmons episode when Jordan and Steve go to Wayne Toy Show. Jordan sells at the Comic Book Conventions. Tables for these shows are $200.00 and higher. The bigger shows get 30,000 people.
Maybe he’ll be at the Kane County Antique Toy Show next week , that show should be more up his alley. I don’t think he’ll be stopping by my table though.
Ed
I doubt that Jordan will be there unless his people decide otherwise. Jordan is geared toward the comic book conventions, he did appearances at Wondercon and Horror hound in Cincinnati. Jordan likes to set up at New York Comicon which is in October. If he showed up at Kane I would be surprised.
his people
Yeah probably not, but Kane County is more geared towards what he seems to be looking for, they have plenty of dolls and the old time toys, not just toy soldiers. Kane County has changed a lot since the last time you were there, they got two new brick buildings so there’s not much in the outdoor pens anymore. I think only two of them ar open now and ones only about half filled. I got a table indoors behind Gary Linden., my first time selling there.
Ed
I agree that Kane County would would be perfect for Jordan, but the problems are first until Jordan got innvolved with the show he stayed mostly on the East Coast. Second. Jordan has not been seen at flea markets, etc in his area. On the Kiss episode, he admits he does not do flea markets. I figure Jordan depends on pickers and buying from collectors for his old items. His company Hollywood Collectibles sells new items. Third. the staff of Toy Hunter are not toy collectors and do not know the toy market. As I tell people. I have seen behind the curtain. The Christmas episode which had banned toys, I discovered that Crack.com did an article on banned toys several years earlier. Several of the toys mentioned in the article were in the show. I mentioned the Cracked article to Jordan in Wayne. I got a blank stare. I also mentioned to him about Sellersville Toy Auction he was slated to appear, he gave a blank stare as well.
